I've been using my Tour X Solid for about a month. It is an outstanding compliment to the Tour X, and does what you would expect a solid version of the Tour X to do.

The high RG gives this ball easy length through the front of the lane - even with a sanded surface (my preference for this ball). The solid cover picks up earlier in the mid-lane than the pearl cover of the Tour X. In my opinion, the back end response is smooth and predictable - more of a soft arc motion. The original Tour X is a bit more angular. However, both of these balls have stronger backend motions than the Tour SIC.

My pin-down below the bridge with a weight hole around P3 is the ball described above. I also have another one with the pin right of the ring finger that provides a great controllable look on shorter patterns. I would highly recommend this ball, particularly for mid-to-high rev bowlers who are looking to control ball motion on more challenging sport shots. DEFINITELY a must-have for tournament bowlers!

Likes: The Tour X Solid is a must for all tournament bowlers. The ball reads the midlane a little sooner than the Tour X Pearl and transitions smoother off the backend. It helps to blend out the oil pattern.

The Tour X Solid is my go to bench mark ball right now. It's super smooth off the spot on all lane conditions and super receptive to surface changes. I hit mine with a lite 2000 pad to start it a bit sooner and make it even sooner and it produces a shape I've never had before. It is the first ball out of my bag unless I'm bowling on something super long. This ball and some of the coming releases from Track are extremely versatile and must haves!

Length:40ft

Volume:20-25mL

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):USBC white pattern on Brunswick Anvilane

The Tour X Solid is at box surface I was standing 18 looking at 10 at the arrows, I was really impressed with the length I got out of the Tour X Solid I know the Tour X was a little early for me as a pearl ball.  The movement off the friction down the lane was fun to watch, just for fun I moved about 4 left and it couldn’t make it out the oil and transition to the friction down the lane fast enough.  For me this is a good medium light oil ball and as long as the pattern isn’t very heavy and has friction down the lane this is a really good ball for those type of shots.  Also for me the Tour X Solid would hit very weak when it was caught in the oil and or couldn’t get into a roll once out of the pattern.  That is certainly one thing to watch for and make an adjustment to find the friction.

TourX Solid
Layout: 85°x 4 3/16"x75°, weight hole 2" right of edge of thumb, Surface 1000 with Magic Shine.

To say I like this ball is an understatement. The difference between this and the original Tour X are night and day. For me this ball gives me a look I have not had since the original 505C. Clean, Smooth and strong finish thru the pins. I like it as a step down from my #1 SiC, when I need just a little more length than my #2 SiC gives me. It fills a gap that I didnt think I had, and it does it well.

COMMENTS

Likes: For a solid mid performance ball, It has a smooth reaction, but at the same time read the lanes early because of the coverstock. It rolls great dull, but Something about the polish on this ball is just that amazing. The Tour line has been one of the best lines especially having the DNA core in them. besides the Tour SIC.

Likes: The Tour X Solid is the first ball out of my bag.  I can use it on almost any pattern.  The ball is super smooth down the lane with great mid lane read and a smooth aggressive drive to the pocket.  I have mine drilled with pin under the bridge with weight hole at P3.  If your looking for a ball that's very controllable and helps you read the lane then the Tour X Solid is the ball for you!!
