Track Kinetic Emerald!
« on: January 24, 2017, 11:08:47 AM »
This is the best bang for your buck when it comes to asymmetric and over all hook potential. This ball is one of the most hard hitting balls I've ever thrown. When this ball hits the pins it grabs everyones attention. The Track Kinetic glides thru the front end and responds very well down lane. It gives you a sharper entry angle to the pocket with control. Due to the modified Kinetic asymmetric core. As the Track Mako starts to eat up the oil. The Track Kinetic takes over and delivers a great 1-2 punch and devour your competion. Both the Mako and Kinetic will perform well together on your typical house shot and also the Open Championships.

The difference is really in the color of the coverstock....

It's really the chemistry of the pigments/colors....

That being said, the reds are a slower responding cover vs the green/black on the new Kinetic

Are you insinuating that red bowling balls are slower responding compared to their green or black brothers?  So each of the Mission Unknowns performed differently?

If color had as big a deal in performance as you say, then all bowling balls would be one color.

It's not that cut and dry, it's certainly part of the equation
I was on a factory tour a few months ago and they talked about it
The eruption pro hybrid, slower responding cover, red & orange
The kinetic emerald, green and black, quicker responding cover for me
The blue tundra, quicker responding for me
The track heat, slower response for me
I don't know all the details by any means, but color does play a bigger role these days in the cover technology than in the past

You will not be able to convince me that color plays a significant role in the performance of today's bowling balls.

For every green fast reacting cover there are just as many red ones (and vice versa for slow).

It's what we were told at the factory
And by others we met there
Tend to believe the place that makes them

The mission unknowns did perform differently. As the red and gold are pearls and the black one was a solid. Got that straight from ebi. Secondly color does have an effect on reaction. The color red for instance. Is a softer pigment therefore softer shell gaining more traction. Not a significant effect but an effect none the less

I picked up a Kinetic Emerald last night.  My thoughts on a limited sample size of shots:

- It's more arcing than skid/flip.  Speaking in terms of newer releases, the Kinetic Emerald's ball motion reminds me of the Eternal Cell.  Very smooth for a polished ball, even in the dry the ball did not make a sudden change in direction.

- I have the same layout on it as the Code Black and the Code Black goes more sideways off the spot while covering just about the same amount of boards.  I now have two options for different ball motions in the same range of hook potential depending on what the lane is dictating.

- In terms of total hook potential, it feels like a true medium ball to me.  In terms of my arsenal, it slots above the HyRoad, next to Code Black, and below the Phaze II.  On nights that I start with the Phaze II, I can see the potential of stepping down to the Kinetic Emerald without having to move (how nice is it to be lefty?).

One of my lefty buddies put together a new 4 ball arsenal on Sunday with a Mako, Rebel Solid, Kinetic Emerald, and a Black Hammer. Shot 300 last night with the Kinetic. Ball rolls so nice
