airport

Does anybody know how far it is from the convention center to the airport in El Paso?   I'm trying to decide how close to cut my flight out. Thanks

Mapquest has the distance at a little over 7 miles, and it looks like most of it is highway driving. As such, unless there is something goofy about the traffic pattern along that stretch, I would say you could probably cut it pretty close.

Thanks Gene. I still think I might be considering something too tight. Lol

I guess I don't understand why you would want to cut it so close.

I would want at least 6 hours to get there and wind down some after the flight. It really doesn't cost you any extra.

Besides what if the flight was delayed for some reason and you missed your squad. What if you luggage gets lost?

If you want to fly in one day and out the next I understand. But the majority of the expense of going is the flight and an extra few hours doesn't add to that expense.

I fly from Virginia.  I always add a day before and leave a day after.  Day before to wind down from the flight.  A day after in case the squad runs late, which it often does.  Don't chance it to save a few bucks on the hotel.

Oh I'm not worried about saving hotel money. I'm leaving there and heading to Vegas. It's the difference between a nonstop flight and one with a layover. Several hours of party time!

I would do whatever I had to do to get out of El Paso as soon after bowling as possible.
Hit the pocket and hope for the best

Heads up - for those that want to do away with the bowling ball delivery through UPS, shipping to fedex stores is somewhat cheaper, and my google maps search indicate that there's a fedex ship site right at the airport! That means you can ship your balls in advance, pick them up at the airport, then drop them off before the flight!
