Well that sounds fair to me.  All the people who bowl the Open Championships RELY on the rules being applied fairly to all.

Good, I'm so sick and tired of the cheaters. It's the biggest problem bowling has in my opinion.

This situation always gets tricky for me because I don't believe everyone does this with designs on manipulating the system or trying to gain an unfair advantage. Still, you have to react swiftly and harshly if you're going to discourage those who DO attempt to do those things for nefarious purposes. All in all, I think that USBC is probably making the right call here.

True, but it's on the bowler to know they are within the rules.

Yeah, if I were in one of those leagues that puts down a challenging pattern yet doesn't register as Sport, I would be sure to let them know so as to avoid this problem. Then again, I usually shoot between 1650-1750 out there anyhow, so they don't really have to worry about me topping any leader boards anyhow.

The rules in place try to look back far enough to put people in the proper division.  The biggest hole I see are in cases just like this kid who only has a couple years of adult experience.  Clearly his USBC OC's average will put him in Regular division after this year as it seems that is where his ability fits.  He averaged 202 for his first 2 years and was even better this year.

Those coming from youth to adult and the habitual sandbaggers are those that are hardest to judge.  Hopefully the known sandbaggers will get caught and removed to open up for the rest of us just trying to fairly compete.  I do hope that a list of those being re-rated at tournaments gets published for other tournament directors.  As many of us have been behind the scenes, we want to present the fairest event possible.  This means kicking out a handful of cheaters.

We have a group going out in the Standard division and we've checked multiple times to make sure we aren't missing anything.  I like this new division because it's perfect for a person like my wife.  Her highest average ever was 214, but typically hovers around 200 on THS.  Had a 299 once as high game.  Has a handful of 700's in a year if even that many.  Never had 1,700+ all-events at USBC OC's.  She flat didn't want to go anymore until this division opened up.  To her, all it felt like that she was being told she sucks.  Now she feels like she will compete against others who suck.

Awww, the cheaters got caught and now want to whine and cry about it. They should be banned, especially the Meyer idiot.

If you don't want your team to be known as cheaters, then don't have a proven cheating piece of crap on your team.
