Let me start by saying this ball out of the box is way too much.
I layed out this ball wanting something usable on heavy half synthetic and half wood lanes. the heads are synthetic so the lanes don't breakdown that fast, your backend reaction just seems to get stronger over the period of the set.
I used 5 1/2 x 4 with my pin over my bridge and cg along the midline with a weight hole 2 inches deep to bring the ball back to 3/4 oz postive.
I used the ball in the box finish on a synthetic pair of lanes oiled 40 feet top hat ( the centre i work at) and the ball played well swinging 3rd and 4th arrow out to about 3 and back.it also played well down and in over 1st and 2nd with a small adjustment of the coverstock.
this ball went back into the shop and headed for the spinner. i wetsanded to 1200 and then applyed a small amount of active attack (product from Ultimate bowling products) which is a bit less shiney than the original black magic. so it gives the ball a 1000 polised look.
I then took this ball to league (half syn, half wood) and 42ft xmas tree. Playing 4th arrow out to 5 and back all night barely adjust 2 boards.
this ball is great with a weaker or stronger pattern. i have a second one still sitting in the box that will be drilled soon for tournaments.
Comparisons: none, there is nothing close to this ball in visionary's present line up. with some polish and a weaker drilling, this will handle heavy league shots, for some and if you lack hand this is a god send.
For heavy flat oil this ball will be your money shot.
Thanks for reading and continue to have fun on the lanes this summer.
