Greenie Meanie (mini-review)(not so mini)
« on: February 14, 2006, 04:40:52 PM »
Well I finally got one, Finally got myself a green gargoyle and all I can say Is I waited way too long.  Check profile for my specs and ball specs.

Only have 6 games on it right now so I'll post a final review on it after I get some more on it.

First Lane condition was a broken down house shot.  Usually a little too slick for my Violet, so I usually have to go to my Original Inferno to get it to carry well.  Tried the Greenie around 12 board out to 8 but there was just too much oil on the backs for it to make it back to pocket.  moved out to 10, and at least was able to hit pocket but I was leaving tons of 10 pins.  moved out to the 7 board playing straight up and was still leaving 10 pins.  starting to get a little disgusted I played with my finger positions, (moved my index finger a little closer to my middle and moved my pinky away from my ring.) all of a sudden the ball was unstoppable.  no 10 pins here.  rolled 160 the first game (no warm up and only used the greenie for the last 4 frames, usually takes me at least 5-6 strike shots to warm up all the way)  then shot 220 the 2nd game missed 2 10 pins, started stringing strikes in the 5th frame (when i messed with finger position) and strung 10 in a row, and in the 3rd game I rolled a 240 or something.  I was rather pleased with the carry and the way the ball rolled.

Condition 2,  Toughest shot in the State, HEAVILY oiled from 8-8 (I saw my friend with a fair amount of revolutions and a slow (15mph) ball speed roll a Trauma ER sanded down to 220 grit roll his ball 13 out to 10 and watched his ball just keep sliding and sliding until it hit the very last part of the lane and it made just a little move), No house shot here, severe wet dry usually, although tonight it didn't seem too bad.  Never been an 800 rolled there and only 2 300s have been rolled there.  Played right around the same line as at the other house, trying to play 8 out to 7 rolled 228 the first game, then 298 the second game (tugged it one board and came over the top of it which made it slide and leave me a 2,5. then the last game I fell apart and rolled a 177, Ball was very controlled, and as long as I stayed behind it the ball would carry.

So far I really like the ball, really impressed with it, but I still haven't rolled it on a shot suited for the ball, so I guess we'll see what happens when I actually come accross a shot made for the ball.

Thanks for checking out my mini-review even though it wasn't so mini, and if you have any suggestions then feel free to let me know. thanks.

Jeremy
