My pro shop gets these mags about 3 weeks before I get them in the mail, so since I was in there, I bought one.
They are very complimentary of the Centaur. They make it sound like this is the long awaited true dry lane reactive ball. They specifically compliment the time and effort Visionary puts into their ball designs.
Their "Overall" paragraph states that most "dry" lane reactive balls have problems because if they get down the lane far enough, they hit weak because of a weak core. They also say that if they have a strong enough core, the shell is so weak it is likely to fail on carrydown. They finish by saying that the Centaur must have been designed with all that in mind, because they saw none of that in testing.
BTM's ball reviews are pretty sanitized, and it takes a little reading between the lines to tell when they are really impressed. I think they are really impressed with this ball.
P.S. I was actually in the pro shop to buy a Visionary product--another Granite Gargoyle. I wanted to grab a spare in case they decide to quit making them. Talk about a unique ball! Nothing else moves quite like a Granite Gargoyle. If that move suits you--and it suits me--it's a real keeper.
