So , The boys at Southwest airlines strike again. this is the 3rd ball that has been cracked going the  nationals. The last few years they totally destroyed my 3 ball totes and cracked my cell and my 2.5. So this year I got a better bag with extra padding. Did no good they cracked my 900 G Break Pearl. So to make a short story longer!

The guy at the 900 G booth in Reno said the AMF Dbl Clutch Pearl is close to the Break Pearl. Same Core but a little stronger cover.  Has any one thrown both balls and how close are they? I love my Break all my high games in Reno came with this ball. not in order 255,244,227,217,203 with the break. all other games suck with a ball that had more surface. They break gave me the best reaction and carry. Please let me know what you think of the DBl Clutch Pearl.

 

P.S. I have tried BBE to ship for me $60+ one way for 4 balls . Maybe next year

Sorry Crash, who ever told you that they were close, or that the DCP was a good replacement must be misinformed.

 

You did say it came from somebody in the 900G booth, so maybe they are right.  I haven't thrown the DCP,  but looking at the coverstock and other vital numbers, they sure don't look to be close!

 

But, if you can throw 14lb, let me know, I still have a NIB Break Pearl.

Alternatively, if you want to believe that 70% of a ball's reaction is based on the coverstock, you could look at the Profit.

 

Or maybe the Break Point Pearl - I believe there are still some to be found on eBay.

 

Or possibly even the Seismic Aftermath Pearl.  Check with Tekneek, he has some deals on 2nds and blems, and he might be able to recommend a decent substitute for the Break Pearl.

What weight are you looking for?  I have a 16lb 45 x 4 x 45  on a 5 over by 1 up PAP 4 1/4 span.  It's in great condition, less than 100 games on it.  If you're interested just PM me.
