Train Video
« on: April 29, 2012, 05:33:47 PM »
Greetings! This is my first attempt at doing a video and I think it turned out fairly well considering it was taken with my smart phone. I won this ball from Eric Thomas at 900 Global a while back when they did a contest during the NFL playoffs. Just in case you are wondering on the layout, since it was a fairly short pin (~1.5"), I went with pin in the ring finger w/ the C-G slightly kicked out under the ring finger. The shots are from the first 2 games out of the box and consecutive 1st ball shots. No surface changes were made and it is on a 42' THS.

Thanks again Eric Thomas & 900 Global and thank you to everyone for your time and watching my video!

Looks good!  See that it loves the head oil that is for sure!! Let's see some move vids!
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Thanks for the replies. I am flattered. This was a spur of the moment during som e proactice and was easy to do on my laptop afterwards. I am hoping to do something with the Look and Sure Thing before the end of the summer. Should be a good year with the new pieces out, can't wait!

Hey...

I have that same ball but have a serious question... Is this ball a down and end ball because I noticed you get better response with down and end... I watched you attempt to crank and then it washed out in the middle and I thought it was a heavy oil ball...  When I crank it does the samething, response and no response... Any ideas ... :-\

It is a heavy oil ball. It's very rolly. With his layout it's going to be even more rolly. I personally don't think that it's ever going to SNAP like you're looking for. I made the mistake of drilling my first one 65x4.75x60, and it's so smooth I can't move in and wheel it. Maybe if I drilled the next one 45x4x30 and polished the snot out of it I could get it to snap, but that's not what the Train series is about.

You want more back end, look at the Freight Train instead.

Thank you for the quick response...

I told the man who drilled the ball I wanted it very agressive and its the opposite... Very rolly like you said.. Thanks

Well, by design, it's very rolly. Reminded me of my Bounty. I can get in with it, but my first one works better when I don't go so left to right with it. Also, OOB, I couldn't get it 30 feet (On a heavy Kegel pattern) before it started to grab. E is just too early for that ball, IMO. A or T makes it actually playable. :)

Aggressive is a term that can mean many things. If he drilled it strong, it probably puked out of your hand. Its a very strong ball. Lots of guys here were using 5 to 5-1/2 inch pins on theirs with the pin up, then polishing he won't out of it.
