Bounty hunter vs Virtual Gravity
« on: August 10, 2009, 04:42:07 AM »
My cousin is in the market for a new oiler. He has narrowed his search down to these 2 balls. He is a lefty with around 300 revs throws the ball around 16-17 mph. He has the medium-dry covered but he wants a ball he can really open the lanes up with. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

P.S I will post this in the storm forum as well.

I've never thrown the VG, however I have used my BH against a few who wished they had a BH rather than their VG. The BH is the strongest thing I have thrown, has good length and an angular finish that hooks until it falls off the end of the lane bed. More continuation with less deflection. The carry is phenomenal!!!

I would pick BH! This ball just does more! i think a lot of it has to do with the surface attributes of the BH compaired to the VG. Seen a lot of success with the Vg, and great responses from the storm camp, however i have seen a few loose there luster or as others say 'have died'.

For me the ball is very angular off the spot, sees midlane friction and checks up hard in the back.  It hooks a ton, at 4k, just makes me wonder what it would do at something with more surface.(2k,1k???)  Never a hook stop type reaction with this ball, it just keeps going till it goes thru the pins.

yes, the BH is more ball than the VG, had them both with similar drills, my VG did not like that much oil at any surface it liked to be unpredictable when their was volume out there.

Not so with the BH, that ball is a monter with a very similar motion as the VG only stronger. It eats oil up. Just can't use it only anything ohter than medium heavy.

I'll 2nd that, tried using mine Thursday night, it went to the bag after the 8th frame, 1st game. Don't read anything it to this other than face value. I started at 45 to 10 at the down lane markers, if I tugged it one board i was left of the 1-3, if I hit 6-8 it was high flush, 4 pins and 4-9. Put it away and had fun with the Sideways.
