505T vs Bank Pearl
« on: February 08, 2011, 07:32:59 AM »
I have a 505T 65x4.5x30 2000Ab that I love, I need  a ball that will get  down lane longer but still be as strong over all  as the 505T, how would  the Bank Pearl do in that spot, I had a  Track 607A that I  just dont care for and  have given up on and sold. I was thinking a  stronger pearl would be a  good fit.

Heres my current arsenal, tell me what I need:

 715T 65x4.5x30  2000ab  Heavy oil
 505T 65x4.5x30  2000ab  med heavy
 Dark Star  70x4x40          Med
Red Backlash 80x3x40      MedLight/Light...not too bad for spares either
 White Dot                        Spare Ball

The Bank Pearl is on par with the 920A and a fantastic piece of equipment. Overall, it will be about 3-4 boards stronger than the 505T, if both were at box finish, but cleaner through the fronts obviously due to the cover.

No problem, my friend is on staff with 900 Global and I can tell you everything want to know about their entire line. It really is a great piece of equipment. I'm a Track whore, but there is other great stuff out there and this is one of those balls.

What a good first night, Older house with wood lanes and guardian overlays, 40ft THS, always higher friction. I was able to get left of everyone else all night. Stand 30, 20 at arrows 7 at break......Stayed all night until 5th frame of game 3....then 2 and 2...That was it. Ball hits like a mack truck!!!! Never had a ball hit like that ever, I am impressed and so were many guys in the league.
290- Solid 4 in first frame
265
211- 4-9 in 10th
766.......highest series I have had in 2 years!!!!

I bowl tomorrow on synthetics, I cant wait to see how it does. I am so impressed with how consistent it was and how well it read the lane even on the higher friction surface. I am very happy I ventured out to try this ball, makes me curious about more 900 Global balls......
My Dark Star is getting ready retire, which 900 Global would do a good job replacing it?

Current Arsenal:
715T 65x4.5x30  2000ab  Heavy oil
Bank Pearl 60x5x40ob Med Heavy
505T 65x4.5x30  2000ab  med heavy
 Dark Star  70x4x40          Med
Red Backlash 80x3x40      MedLight/Light...not too bad for spares either
 White Dot                        Spare Ball

Nice Shooting!!!

For a replacement for the Dark Star....would go with the Longshot.....can't go wrong!

Wanting to purchase this ball but can't seem to decide how to drill the ball.  I have been running tests on pin positions and found that pins even or below the fingers are stronger then above the fingers.  I am just worried that if I purchase this ball it will not move in some of the more oiler longer patterns I bowl on.  Has anyone tried this on a heavier lane condition, what were your results.  My RPM is around 320 to 330 ball speed at 14-15MPH

I bowled tonight on synthetics and a higher volume of oil, very different from last night. I was playing 10 boadrs right of last night. It handled it pretty well during practice and was even smoother than last night. I would go pin down if you are bowling on heavier volumes. It did fine, but I had a better look game 1 with my 505T. I switched in second game and played same shot i started with 505T and it was money again. Still carried great.

I have both the 607se and the 718a love both but the 718 is by far my favorite. I have not thrown a bank pearl but if you like Track balls the 718a is a must

I threw the 718A as a demo ball along side the BP. I liked the BP better because it was smoother and more controllable at the break, I love Track balls, all but the 607...just my opinion. The 505T is one of the best balls I have ever thrown. The BP compliments the 505T very well from what I saw last night. After the heads started to break down a bit, I threw the BP on the exact same line I threw the 505T in game 1 and it picked right up where the 505T left off, I do have 505T at 2000ab, if the 505T was at 4000, I think balls would be very close on fresh with BP just being sooner......but huge difference once heads start to break
