Title: 900 Global BooYah
Post by: Impending Doom on May 18, 2015, 01:00:05 PM
Just saw the video for this on bowlersdeals and bowlersmart.

S20? Urethane @1000? Is this Global's answer to the Pitch Black?

(Please say yes!)

What else could it possibly be?

Weak resin, but it rolls like urethane. *drool*

I'll leave my Desert Hook polished now. :p

I like the roll of the chemical x in the video. Looks like a good core cover match

I love that they kept the Break core and S70 around. It NEVER gets old.

BooYah is Urethane. It isn't pure Urethane for the simple fact they can't make that anymore. Black Ops has the S70 cover and Break core. Then the Chemical X will have an S55 Solid Cover and a symmetric core with a 2.49rg and .035 diff. I believe the numbers are correct. Definitely going to fit our arsenal perfectly. Along with the Dream Big and Respect Pearl, these summer releases are going to be unreal!!!

I should get them this week. I will do some comparisons to our current lineup.

I strongly suspect that Chris Barnes' love for urethane on shorter patterns (he used the Pink Stingray quite a bit over the past several years) was the driving force behind this release.

Doom,

It is not weak resin, it is urethane!  S20 has been used before on the Hype Urethane.

Who said you can't do pure Urethane anymore?

I still have my Hype. I gave had all of Storms urethanes made since the Natural as well as the Grenade and the Hype hooks more and hits harder than them all.

I couldn't use my Hype. One was too lazy off the spot, and the second one I drilled stronger hooked at the arrows on EVERYTHING. Too much diff for me with that cover, IMO.

I wish I would have bought into the hype, now I feel sad like the trident layers guy..

TJ, I am talking about the Urethane from the 70s & 80s. Isn't that type of chemical banned? I know the ball is urethane. Just a different process right?

Is it going to be easier to change the surface on than the Hype?

You can dull it down pretty easily, but you'll definitely have trouble trying to polish it...

Did you expect a urethane ball to be angular off the spot?

Not at all, but it was a bad cover core matchup, I think. The idea that urethane needed that much flare potential was a bit... much. Other people have agreed, unless they laid them out super weak.
