900 Global Xponent
« on: August 15, 2023, 07:24:16 PM »
Well 900 Global has did it again. Finally with the new 701 cover-stock Symmetrical ball. My guess is the updated 900 Global C4 they used to have. I loved that ball. I can't wait to throw this ball more and more. I drilled a pin up and a pin down. The pin up is a right out of the box ball! rolls great, you can actually see the ball roll and do its job! Then the pin down is a great solid ball to grab when you have to start making the moves (less flare). What I like is the pin up, I keep the lane shine on it to have the hook on the back end, Then the pin down, I keep the box finish. this will help it not want to hook as hard on the back end and read the mid lane very easy. It's an east 3 to 5 board difference between the 2. Very nice bowling balls, and very well made! I make these a go to ball for sure. Leagues here in Michigan are starting in less than a month. This is going to be a high scoring ball for sure!

Review:
This new Xponent is so much better than I could of hoped for. This ball is definitely an upgrade on the C4 which I did like to roll. I could not believe the nice roll and hit this new Global Xponent has given me. This ball is part of a group of medium type new releases in the Storm Family but this may surprisingly be my favorite. I love the roll, motion and hit this ball gives me. The Exponent is forgiving and when you trust a ball it seems you loosen up and bowl better with it. The Xponent would be a nice benchmark solid to build an arsenal around. I have tried this ball on a few different conditions now and it has read them all well with great performance. I seem to be able to see how this balls core migrates as it goes down the lane. Though this is a wide range, I would put the Xponent directly between the Hustle RIP and Gem in total hook and shape. I think whoever gives this ball a try will be impressed. Don’t sleep on this ball!

Summary:
The Xponent has a very nice smooth motion.
The roll and continuation through the pins is excellent.
This ball has been a great surprise in a good way!

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the 900 Global Xponent!

In 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the Batch 701 Solid Coverstock and comes with 4000 abaron and an RG of 2.48, Diff of .042.

Now that I have thrown this ball I have found it as another stronger ball to go along with balls like the Storm Summit and as I have said in other reviews being more speed than rev dominant I have found this ball to look best going straight down the track. The Xponent is not as rolly as my Summit so I did have to start moving left as I threw it. I have thrown it against the 900 Global Zen Gold Label as well and had to move right as the Zen GL is a shiny pearl with React Gloss. I see this ball being great on the fresh and after some lane shine can be a little slow so I plan to keep the surface up on this one where I will let the Summit stay lane shined.

Core:  Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric
(14pd)
RG:  2.49
Differential:  0.042

Layout Extras:  2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left

Review:
The Xponent features the Shrapnel 2.0 Core that was almost famous but overshadowed by the original 900 Global Zen. At that time, the Ordnance C4 was well respected and came with a hybrid coverstock. The new Xponent has already made huge waves in the professional ranks.

The Xponent comes with a solid coverstock, finished at 4000 Abralon. You can expect a clean reaction through the front part of the lane. From what I see, on the HPL surfaces I bowl on, the Xponent offers a great OOB combination to ensure optimal length and backend on most of your THS conditions. For sport, the Xponent will make the bag as an option in many cases.

First thing you will notice right away with the Xponent the OOB finish provides a nice arching and continuous motion. I tested this out on THS and after about three games rolled on the Don Johnson (40') pattern. The ball is very predictable which is the true strength of the Xponent.  In my opinion the Xponent goes through the pins a tad better then its predecessor the Ordnance C4. The Xponent will be a great option as a starter ball out of the bag.

For me, I'm going with the OOB surface on the Xponent. The carry potential of this ball will be something special when lanes get tougher to navigate or the backends are sharp and you are looking to blend the pattern a bit with more control.  Be sure to grab the new 900 Global Xponent today!
