Title: 9G Arsenal?
Post by: yo on January 25, 2010, 05:08:14 PM
was wondering what you guys think about this arsenal. any overlaps or anything i can improve? i do not use a spare ball and only want to carry 4 balls at most. anything im missing or should change? thanks!

Break Out (Pin above ring, mb kicked out)
Bounty Hunter Pearl (Pin above bridge, mb kicked out)
Storm 2nd Dimension (i know its not 900, but its my favorite ball. Pin under middle finger, cg kicked out)
Creature Pearl (Pin above middle, cg in palm)

Break out is great ball
I think anyone who skips the Break Point Pearl is making a mistake.  Recently 815-300 with that ball on Anvilane Surface.
Bounty Hunter Pearl (Not my fave).
Storm Ball (you stated you are keeping)
Lunatic is much better the Creature Pearl (The Lunatic gets great easy length when others check up quick but still ample recovery)

So the four
Break Out
Break Point Pearl
2cnd Dimensions
Lunatic

I second Nodsleinad.

Skipping over the Break Point Pearl would be missing out.  It will add an angular look to your arsenal that you don't have.

The lunatic is awesome too!

Best part is, with 900g you can't go wrong

See i love the Lunatic as well, but it just doesn't get that "easy" length you speak of for me. But I agree about the BPP, I think the BHP would be pretty close to the 2nd anyway.

interesting.. i thought the BHP would've been my skid/flip type reaction.. i was also looking at the BPP but was wondering how close it would be to the Breakout?

You have two new releases I''d learn , BreakOut and The Bounty Hunter Pearl, two of my favorites, I think you have a reasonable lineup,..Learn the new ones before ya run out and get something else. Later a Link might be a good add..

It looks like a very good bag, the only thing i would think would be a Link instead of the Lunatic, the Lunatic for me is way to strong to be the weakest ball in the bag, Link with a strong drill or with some surfaces will cover most medium-dry to dry conditions, another thing to look at is the AMF Hype Urethane (AMF is pored by 9G), that appears to be another great dry lane ball as well.

Only throw the good stuff, Roto/Global.

I would has to agree with the link too. It has bailed me out and is still controllable with a strong layout on it.

I just got my Breakout and all i can say is wow! this ball is very versatile and hits like a truck every time. that being said, i think i can get away with only going with 3 balls maybe? i was wondering how close or far apart would the Breakout and the Lunatic be? still on the hunt for that creature pearl, but was wondering if i could get away with going

Breakout (Heavy-Medium/Heavy)
Lunatic (Benchmark/Medium)
Creature Pearl (Medium-Dry)
Link? (Bone dry/Spare ball)

Yo,i am using a Breakout, Lunatic, and a Link on a THS shot.I use a plastic ball for all my right side spares.I think this combo will get you through on most conditions.IMO

thanks Tog. after looking at that lunatic when people suggested it, it does look pretty good. decided to bench my 2nd dimension for the time being and save it for later. thanks for the help!

Now I think you''re being reasonable. I was beginning to wonder if you never saw light oil or you threw the ball 20 mph. I would NOT call the Link for bone dry unless you have 20 mph speed. Light to medium-light. Creature pearl: medium-light to medium, Lunatic: medium (+/-), Breakout: medium-heavy.

FYI For a true arsenal you want one flippy or near flippy pearl to play deep inside when necessary. I''d suggets either the BreakPoint pearl or the new Clutch Pearl.
