I currently have the complete Ops line up. Desert Ops pin down 37*3 3/4*52, Special Ops - pin up 50*3 1/2*35, Covert Ops - pin down 67*3 3/4*80 and Black Ops will be pin up (not drilled yet). My question is should I add the Honey Badger? And/or Inception Pearl.
(I also have the Ebonite Maverick Pearl awaiting drilling)

I would say you don't need it, but neither do I, and I'll be picking one up! If you want one, and you know you do, pick one up.
-
I already have one. LMAO. I'm debating whether or not to drill it right now or sit on it.
Ball junkies don't care!

PUT HOLES IN IT ALREADY!! been a 899 shot already with it

I've had layouts both pin up and down. Has anyone had a pin IN the ring finger layout?
-
Only reason not to drill a ball imo is because you have one already and its meant to be the future replacement. I quite frankly doesn't understand non bowlers who collect bowling balls (do see that on ebay). That said they are often the only reason there is still NIB stuff from decades ago.

I demo'd an inception pearl at Mike Aulby's Arrowhead Bowl while my son was at Purdue bowling camp a week or so ago. First time I had thrown any 900G ball. Even though the demo span was a bit short for me, I was tremendously impressed. That may have been the best ball I threw that day and I threw a few good ones. Has me seriously looking at the brand now. So yeah, drill an inception pearl.
BTW, One of the best brick and mortar pro shops I've been in. Tom Taylor has literally dozens of drilled balls available for demos. Good guy too.

Ok. That settles it. I'm punching holes in them. Updates to come!!! Thanks for the advice y'all

And this is why I say you can't go wrong with a bag full of Ops!!

Honey Badger has been drilled up. 50*4 3/8*55 with the pin in the ring finger. What a ball! Tons of carry. Snappy yet smooth backend. This ball is a must have!

This is what I've been saying! Watch out for it!

I have my HB on order, just waiting for it to come in :-)

I still want to get this ball and it will be interesting to compare it to the Monster Boogieman that I just had drilled up. I know the Lochness was manufactured by 900 Global, so I'm assuming the newer 2 balls were as well.
I went pin over the ring (about 5-5.5" to PAP) with a p3 hole. This usually gives me pretty good length with a snappy back end. Monster says this ball is long and angular, and it IS compared to the Lochness, but it's nowhere near as angular as most of the Storm balls I own. In fact, even with that layout, it's pretty smooth for a shiny pearl. Definitely filled a hole for me. It's smoother off the friction than the Hustle Ink I just got - and I ended up taking the shine off that ball (way too snappy with that 1500 polish!)
I'm hoping the Honey Badger is a little stronger so there isn't an overlap. A similar motion that handles a little more oil would be really nice.
