The Reality was easily the best Asym HP ball made this year. Predictable, versatile and very user friendly. Following, I think the Pearl version could be the best Asym Pearl of the year. You still get that big asym core shape but with the cleaner cover, it responds much better to the friction. The Solid Reality was very forward off of friction. When that shape is too forward, you can switch right to the Altered and get better pin carry because of that cleaner cover. I expect huge things from this ball, especially on the league condition. What’s better than a ball that you can play inside of everyone, and out carry them too?

Review
The Altered Reality features the disturbance asymmetric core with S84 Response Pearl Coverstock providing an RG of 2.49 (15lbs) and differential of 0.052 meaning the ball is clean through the front of the lanes with a very strong reaction on the backend. I tested this ball on a 42 feet typical house pattern with a lot of down lane transition. As mid to low rev player I struggle with ball reaction when the lanes breakdown and I’m forced to move left of the 25 board. I was standing between the 25 and 32 boards and rolling the Altered Reality to right, it continued to hit the pocket and continued to strike. My ball layout is 50x5x40. This ball is awesome. This ball will be in my bag for league and tournaments especially when there is down lane transition. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. Order one from your local pro shop today! The altered reality is the strong asymmetrical Pearl that has been missing from my bag. I have gotten to bowl a few times with it and for me it is a heart step down from the reality when I still want a strong ball. This ball has no problem getting down the lane, and is very strong and predictable. Compared to my reality, both drilled the same way, I have the altered reality 3-4 feet longer on fresh conditions and usually would need to be 3-4 further right with my feet. Where I see this ball being really good, besides on house shots, is the first transition in a tournament where I still want a strong cover and core but need to get it through the fronts clean.
Another great release from the team!!

The 900 Global Reality was very popular throughout the different levels of bowling and I believe the all new Altered Reality will follow in its footsteps. The Altered Reality has the same Disturbance Asymmetric core as the Reality but features the S84 Response Pearl cover. I drilled mine 5 x 5.5 x 2, and after throwing this ball for a little while I was quite impressed on the motion it gave me. It was a lot cleaner than the original Reality because of the pearl cover but you can really see this ball pick up in the midlane. I was able to throw this ball on the fresh on Gateway Arch oil pattern but I had to make sure I projected the ball towards the gutter to make sure it didn’t overreact and go high. I can see myself using this ball after the bigger asymmetrical solid balls in my bag and some of the stronger solid symmetrical balls towards the middle to late of blocks on longer pattern and maybe the fresh on other patterns if the lane
surface has a little built up friction in the front part of the lane.
