Title: Boost Pearl vs Dessert Hook
Post by: carlos on January 01, 2015, 06:23:13 PM
Would the Boost Pearl be a better choice for dry lanes than the Dessert Hook ? I have a Dessert Hook and at times it hooks a bit more than I like. What surface should I put on the Dessert Hook ? Or should I have the proshop polish it up. Thx

The cover on the desert hook is weaker than the Boost and I believe the core too if I remember correctly.  If the Desert Hook is still too much you might want urethane or plastic with a core

Desert Hook hooks too much? What surface do you have it at and where does it hook too much? S30 is plenty weak.

Original surface never been altered and bowling on wood lanes. I'm not sure what the orginal surface was. If anyone knows I'll get the original surface and polish and see what i get.

Try knocking the Polish off and put it at 4k. It will shorten the skid zone, but make the hook zone longer. This should yield a more controllable motion.

Exactly. I am going to do exactly what was recommended to mine. Not because it's too snappy (Heck no), but because I don't like the squirt when it hits a little too much oil.
