Bounty (first impression)
« on: November 04, 2008, 11:12:50 AM »
Drilled my Bounty tonight and went directly to the lanes to throw on a fresh THS.

I drilled mine 5.25 x 4.5 with the pin in the MIDDLE finger, CG 1/4" right of grip center, and MB/900 about 2" right of the thumb in a 4:00 direction. Static ending weights are zero side, zero thumb, and 1-1/8oz top. No x-hole. I left it in OOB surface for now, but I may add some polish if I find it burning up in league play.

I warmed up with my rico'd Break Pearl, as that has been a winner for me in this house. I switched to the Bounty once I was loose and threw a few down the same line (13 at the arrows to a breakpoint of 7). Needless to say, the bounty went through the nose. I moved left 5 on the approach and 3 at the arrows and found the pocket again. After throwing a few strikes there, I wanted to experiment. I kept moving left a couple boards at a time, and the ball never failed to get back to the hole as long as I got it to the outside and put some hand in the ball. The backend on this ball is VERY strong, yet predictable. It is a different look than any of the other 900G balls. It is definitely the strongest ball (overall hook) I have thrown.

I then moved way right and came up the back of the ball. I was able to strike going straight up 5, and also a small swing (10-7). With simple hand/speed changes, I was able to strike from anywhere on the lane. I can see this ball working for a wide range of players on a wide range of conditions.

I cannot wait to throw it during league tomorrow night. I will report back with results.
