BTM Aug issue
« on: July 29, 2009, 08:13:23 AM »
Just looked through the BTM August issue and on the 2009 at-a-glance page I noticed an interesting pattern. Just wondering if anyone else picked up on it.

Thanks Phil for the credit but you're the guy responsible for the result.

The answer is just that 900 Global is pouring the strongest hooking balls on the market.  In the high performance category in the "At-A-Glance" Ball comparison 900 Global pours not only the Bounty Hunter but also the Elite Red Alien and the Lane #1 Dynamo.  Those are the only High Performance balls with a hook rating of 54 or 53.  In the Mid-Price category an AMF Clutch is one of only two balls rated with a 53.

This shouldn't come as a huge surprise with prior releases such as the original Bounty and the Mega Friction already on 900 Global's resume.

Oh, and if the Seismic Requiem were listed I understand it would be up at the top of the list as well.

Kudos to 900 for pouring some of the strongest balls on market today, but we have to admit what is making them even better or the underlying truth is they not only have some of the most hooking balls but some of the most versatile.

Other companies seems to be covering a broad spectrum of styles with countless numbers of balls.  Global still only has a select few and they are able to market to everyone and all kinds of styles.

What I really love is the fact that with everybody wanting to curve the ball these days the last to pro staffers are a couple of the straightest players in the game.

We should take a look at the pattern in our bowling centers in the last 18 months and see what is going on...Consistent ball reactions with high quality products, and top notch customer service to boot.

If there was ever such an award for company of the year I vote 900 Global the winner.  HANDS DOWN!

Yes, I feel the same way. It seems that even though you get one of their strong oil balls, and expect to not be able to use it ever. You can still find it very usable for less oil conditions with a little lesss surface or at OOB.

And as far as performance. I have bowled with basically all companies and 900 global make the best performing and most consistent pieces I ahve thrown. They carry better in my eyes than the others, and they last longer. The only comapny i feel are in the same ball park is Legends/Lanemasters, they are bowling balls I will carry alongside my 900/AMF arsenal.

People that regret trying this comapny are missing out BIG time.

Strongest? Yes.

Also the easiest to tone down if needed? Yes.

This stuff is easily the best I've ever thrown. Someone asked me tonight what makes the Global stuff last longer than most other balls. I thought about it for a second, threw 8 in a row and worked out that it might be because you get to throw less shots with them in a game

What amazes me, is that they don't treat midperformance balls at a second level to their high performance releases. Yes usually they are a step down overall as far as hook is concerned, but the same strong hit and consistency between each shot is there throughout the entire range, not just in the high performance stuff.

You may get to see the Requiem reviewed in the next issue, along with the Epicenter...
