Bounty vs. Mega Friction
« on: February 12, 2009, 03:27:10 AM »
Anyone have any real world experience with both of these balls?  If so, how would you compare for oil handling capabilities, strength and carry.  In comparing the BTM numbers of the two....

Ball........RG.......Diff.........Torque.......Len........BE.....Total
Bounty......2.5......7.8...........6.5.........9.5........16......54
Mega F......2.9......6.4...........6.0.........8.5........15.5....55

....it would seem that the Bounty should roll sooner (lower RG) and have more fresh cover hitting the lane (higher diff) but the numbers show the MF with less length and a stronger Total number.  Probably the particles in the MF cover that make the difference.  Just looking to see if this is what people that have thrown both see also.  Thanks for any info.

MF has a stronger cover, thus the difference in overall hook and length. The MF rolls slightly sooner and should handle a touch more oil -- that's not to say that it can't be angular-ish on the right condition, just that, in general, it has a more rounded breakpoint shape than the Bounty.

I have both and there is no comparison in overall hook, Mega Friction over the Bounty, but both have their condition that they are outstanding in. The Bounty can be used much more thatn the MF, the MF needs a decent amount of oil to be used at all effectivly.

I have both and have bowled on conditions that both suit these two monsters even though the bounty has stronger numbers on paper it is far less in the soup on lanes.  I bowled in practice the other day with both my friend put out a flood i had both my bouty at 1000 abralon and the amf at box which is 1000 the bounty i had to play straight up five and if i missed at bottom or with my speed to high it didnt finish enough to get corner out.  The mega i was wheeling 15 to 5 and it was screaming in to the hole made it look like a ths. On a med heavy the bounty is a monster on a true flood the mega is the way to go.  The mega is a good 3 foot sooner than my bounty on given shots and my bounty is drilled way stronger than the mega. the mega on med heavy shot will want to hook at arrows and lope or puke in midlane.  Dont even bring it out unless you plan on changing cover.

I should only hope that someday i win something that matters so I can be lucky enough to be on staff for the best company out there amf/900 global.
