Compound on a Blk Ops
« on: November 10, 2015, 03:37:14 PM »
Has anyone taken the polish off their Ops and added compound to it instead? I really don't like any 1500 polish finished balls, always just knock the shine off first with a 4000 pad by hand. I tried just knocking the shine off on my 50X5X35 but didn't like it seemed to be over/under still,  want to keep the length on this ball but without the O/U to complement my other Ops with a 45x4 1/2x 65 drilling @ 2000 thanks

I had one that I hit with 500 and brunswick royal compound.  The reaction was great, made the ball still push through the heads but picked up about 2 feet sooner which in turn made the ball more controllable

I haven't touched the surface on mine, and I HATE 1500 polished, but it's not all that bad. I plan on drilling a second one with surface.

Thanks guy's figured the two of you had touched the surface some, Chris will do that and see how I like it sounds good to me, may go to 1000 before compound and work from there
