Break Layout Question?
« on: April 02, 2008, 04:36:29 AM »
I am going to recieve a break solid from my have a ball league I am getting in. I was wondring what would be a versatile layout that isn't to strong. One that could play mediums to a little bit heavier.

I have my pearl balls in check just need a controlled solid to rplace my aging Hawgzilla. I have a buzzbomb drilled 4x4 for heavy, and I don't want it to overlap. If you guys think they will overlap a little even with a weak drill, I am intersted in a AMF Heist as well. Thanks

I have a rico layout on mine (both Break and Break Pearl).
With the pin in the grip center, it is 5" from my PAP.
The rico layout gives me a different look than anything else I have used.
I am hooked.

Mine is drilled 4.5 x 6.  Pin is 3" above midline and MB is directly under thumb.  Very versatile drilling for me.  I can use for all 3 league games with very little adjustment required.

I to have thought about going rico soon, but with this ball it could be a hit or miss. I track pretty high, I think it might be higher now than what my profile says, Haven't got it checked recently. I am afraid I might clip the finger holes with the pin that low.

I was thinking a pin up layout would be a good choice but I was sorta wondering how other people with this layout have faired. I have pretty good amount of res and throw the ball about 16-18 MPH, I can play multiple lines.

This ball has really intrigued me, and would like to see what it has to offer.

I'd think a 4.5-5 inch pin-pap above the fingers, with the MB just under or around your thumb, would give you the reaction you're looking for. Shouldn't be as strong as the strong-drill Buzzbomb, and it should give you more of an arcing (but still strong ENOUGH) backend reaction.

ya 5 inch pin to PAP sounds good to me with MB right next to thumb.

The AMF Heist also has been a ball that has caught my eye, Rev I see you like yours alot. Seems to be a real good ball for medium house shots and real controlable. AM hoiping to find this in the break to.
