too smooth for me does not finish well, going knock it 2k no polish and retry after the grip changes become finalized. I see the ball trying to finish but has not been great so far, break solid on the other hand has been the 2nd best ball I have behind the Kinetic Energy in the 3 years.

That's strange, I had to take mine to 4k + polish because it was reading too soon for me.  How is your BP drilled?

Pin down 4 1/2 to pap and mb is 5 inch to pap, already took it down once too 1k and ruff boughed it usually this works well for me.

Driller said I need to try 2k no polish to see if the reaction wakes up, just got a Gravity shift which out backends this ball by a huge amount. so even on the same lane condition it is pretty smooth even more so with the 600 polished finish.

I got one this past monday and threw a few games with it this week. It is still OOB and although I am struggling, this seems like a great ball.  It's is more me and not the ball, and I have been in a BIG slump.  The ball has great movement, revs up really nice, and hits really hard, when I can get it into the pocket that is.  This is definately the best looking ball, imho.

i saw one last night in league, nice color combo.  the ball only had finger holes in it.  no thumb hole!

Why change the cover on the break pearl? This ball was designed for a medium oil shot. It is NOT for heavier oil conditions..

Just use it for what its intended and you will love it..

I understand what you are trying to say..

I guess its all personal preference..

I see nothing wrong with changing the cover to suit the bowlers game.

Who said anything about heavy oil, i am talking about getting it read early enough and then get some angle to the pocket. Tonight the shot was slightly oiler used a vapor zone all 3 games and just swung it from 15-3 and back game 3.

The break Pearl would have been a dart until game 3, my pin Break solid would have worked but i was trying totally round thumb hole tonight. Need a little oval added and it would have been perfect, will open it up and try again over the weekend still shot 628 even without a totally clean release.

I found that my ball needed a couple games on it before it came to life. At first the ball hardly moved but after a couple games it really came to life. Now its just awsome. I still have it in the OOB condition. Works extremely well on fresh medium condiotions and pretty darn dood on medium conditions with carry down.

Barry,

didn't mean you where saying that.. I just see alot of posts about people using pearlized coverstocks and expecting them to be great in oil and that is not going to be the case.. I love pearl equipment and prefer it over solid but still have my trusty Cell to handle any oil that I see.. The pearl stuff is fine for most house shots I see where I live..

I agree!  I was slightly disappointed at first, but after putting some games on it, ball is good to go!!!  http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z163/fbm357/stuff219.jpg  with pin under she reads very well while keeping strong continuation throughout.  Works well for me moreso on medium to light-heavy conditions.  I've knocked the polish off and worked back up to 2000 abralon with Beans Secret Sauce.  Extremely nice piece to throw.

I am changing to a forward pitch thumb it might be my problem with this ball, I watch a guy on my team get huge backend reaction out of his so maybe the new grip and another surface change will work.

Oob it was too smooth and backed off with a sniff of carrydown.
