Combined Bounty / Break Point Review
« on: April 03, 2009, 04:41:27 AM »
I recently drilled the Bounty and the Break Point. I have been a LOYAL Hammer / Storm user for almost 2-3 years. Afterall Hammer, Storm/Roto made me a pretty penny last year.  Yet none the less I drilled these both and have used them for about 12-18 games each.  At times I may have used them maybe longer than I could / should of on certain shots but I wanted to get a full grasp of the ball(s) so here is my thoughts.

Bounty 60 da x 5 Pin x 30 val, more flare and surface out of box than B/P but ball rolls mid lane/ recovers well and hits fine. Not super Angular but plenty of recovery to carry corners from deeper as long as it has enough oil to get down lane. I use it on med to heavier oil fresh Anvilane house as for wood it would be way to much ball.

Break Point 30 da x 5 x 60 val, Step down ball from Bounty as it has less diff and therefore less flare and 4000 surface versus the 1000 on the bounty. I use it for medium to lighter oil Anvilane or heavier Wood oil house. The drilling promotes slower release of energy so it is not super angular ball still but plenty enough. This week I started 25 with feet to B/P of 10 and shoot 268 game one. I wanted to use the ball all three games to get a read on the carry as I migrated left. Game two through game 3 frame six with consistent moves left to find oil I was never out of the hole but I left 7 ten pins in the next 18 shots. I changed to a 60 x 5 x 30 Hot Sauce and went out for 236 and ended with + 720 total.

So with the drillings I have Bounty is heavier oil ball and B/P is slighlty less. Both allow good lane read and reaction but have corner carry limit to about 35 left for me.

See http://www.princetonbowl.com/ABQ%2008%20WMV.wmv for my game and you can compare how i toss the ball versus maybe you to get a read on possible choice(s) of these balls.
