Title: Cover Durability
Post by: LanemasterLefty on March 27, 2008, 09:54:29 AM
How are the covers lasting on the break and Break Pearl Balls ?  I just had a Black Widow Bite die on me after about 50 games, so I am ready to try something new here..  Saving up so I can get them both at the USBC's..  I have had 3 balls die on me now this year..  Pretty bummed...

My brother's Break Pearl is just as strong as it was since the first day he got it! It's such a great ball that he now has a Break Solid on order.

It seems to me that the 900 Global plant balls have really, really good covers on them. I don't mean they're JUST long lasting, but they also don't chip/scratch up too much either! I have my AMF Orbit Extreme Solid (900G made), and my bro's Break Pearl are in awesome shape!

Thanks for the info...  Good to hear that there are maybe one or two companies out there making longer lasting balls so we do not have to buy them over and over...

Yep! 900 Global is just AWESOME. My Orbit Extreme Solid (my favorite ball since the Hammer Switch Blade) is going close to 100 games probably now, and the cover is still in very good condition, and the reaction is just awesome. It did hook quite a bit out of the box, and has tamed down, but i'm 99% sure that was just the oil pattern out at that time. My center is known for it's high changing rate of oil patterns.

This is also my first ever AMF, and will NOT be my last!

BTW, my brother's Break Pearl probably has close to 50 games without ANY loss of reaction... BTW2, he barely cleans it! LOL.

Glad I helped!

I've probably got around 50 games on my Break Solid - I don't see any difference in performance from when it was new.  I'd like to say that I've cleaned it after every set, but I haven't.  I wipe it down after every shot and probably hit it with some Ebonite cleaner every 6-9 games.

My first Break I had about 50 games on it then changed my pitches and sold it to Boricano and he is still using it with alot of success.  I think these are among the top for cover durability.

Thank you so much for your comments !  They have been a huge help.  As long as they have them in stock 4/23 thru the 25th at the USBC, I will get them both drilled up and try the Roto Grip after we get there around 11am on the 23rd before we shoot team at 2:30 on the 24th..

Thanks Again !
