I have a Bounty with hairline cracks around the thumbhole. I sent them pics and they didn't want to do anything about it unless it got worse.I personally think that they should have replaced it. Had the same thing happen with a Hammer and they replaced it rite away.

If there are some very fine cracks it is nothing to worry about.  This happens to a lot of balls, and if you have a narrow bridge, drill within even an inch of the pin, or glue in inserts or a slug there is a chance the cover will develop some small surface cracks.

I would agree that you should just leave doing anything about the ball until (if) it gets worse..

I wouldn't worry about it.  I have a red Aftershock that developed cracks about 2 weeks after I drilled it, around the pin, fingers and thumb......and that was 14 years ago.

I believe all manufactures state a warranty that says if the ball is drilled within 1" of the pin the warranty is void

i posted something in this forum asking the same question, and to me it seems there is a small problem, but so many variables involved
dull bits
drilling to fast
temp changes
to narrow of a bridge
etc......

there have been a blue million break pearls sold, and due to that i would say
there really is no problem on a mass scale

No problems here on any of mine which include Break S75, Break Pearl, Break Solid, or my Maniac. I also have a Heist, Code, Ncryption Code, & a Mega Friction which are also made by 900 Global which show no problems at all.

I have punched up 7 or 8 Global and amf300 balls for myself and never had any cracking issues at all..

I do a small hairline crack around about 1/2 of the thumb slug on my grand illusion but until its gets worse, I am not worried about it..
