The "TRUTH" about Globals 2016 high end balls
« on: August 04, 2016, 08:48:17 AM »
Reading the ball comparisons chart on BTM it shows the Respect solid and the Moxie both have a higher hook rating than both the Inception and the Truth. Reading the reviews from the staffers would lead you to believe that these two balls move more than anything global has designed in a while. Where does the truth lye? I know from my personal experience the Moxie hooks a ton and the Respect solid which basically uses the same core with a solid coverstock should be a couple boards more, its hard to believe these two new editions could do that much more.

Well, the Truth has a weaker cover on it, and no one ever stated that the Truth was supposed to hook more than the Moxie or Respect Solid, which are the exact same ball. I'm sure that they have plans for the Adaptor core and can make different ball motions with core tweaks. Remember, the Dream and On were "weaker" than the Bigs, and it's not in Globals best interest to release the strongest ball right away.

I'd put the Inception in the Dream On category where it fits and the Truth similar strength but a symmetric core.

The strongest balls 900G/AMF has are the Dream Big and Great Escape. The Respect Solid feels like an in between ball where you may not necessarily need the asymmetric power of the top stuff but need more cover than the Truth

Wrong there some reviews that state these balls a 4-5 boards stronger than the respect solid. That's says to me hooks more. I don't see how you can interpret that any other way.

I only see 1 review on here that plainly states the Truth outhooks the Respect Solid. 1 other review said the Truth revved up more in the midlane and had better continuation

You also have to realize that to a lot of people in the bowling world a ball with more backend hooks more than a stronger ball that doesn't have as much backend

I completely agree.  I'm not sure why this phenomenon exists but it's certainly true.  My guess is that it's a lack of understanding of "overall hook" vs ball motion.

^&on a medium volume shot, it's probably true...a weaker cover ball will "hook" more boards than a stronger cover ball.  Since the stronger cover ball is generally hooking sooner and on insufficient volumes of oil, burning up.

Yes I am a staffer so take it however you would like to interpret this. For ME, the Truth hooks an arrow more than the Respect Solid. My Respect Solid and Moxie are both earlier rolling balls in the front part of the lane. However the Truth's cover allows the ball to retain more energy and provide a much different shape. On even heavier oiled patterns, my Truth is still an arrow more. Now for me, my Inception covers more boards than my Dream Big Solid and my Dream On.

At some point, won't we run out of "Arrows"?

I don't think we will run out of arrows because the oil is changing every year. Patterns are getting longer, changing taper and so on. So I wouldn't say we will completely run out.
