Title: drilling question
Post by: notsohotshot on December 04, 2008, 02:58:59 AM
I am getting the Bounty soon but am concerned about how to drill the thing. Most of the high end stuff that I have drilled lately has been wat too strong for the lanes that I bowl on.
My ststs are speed approx 15mph,324-350 revs,PAP 5.5 rt 3/4" up.  I have been drilling most stuff pin up above rf with cg 2" rt and mb approx2-3" rt of thumb.I also have a 5" span cut to cut and am double jointed in the fingers so I seem to hit up on the ball a bit.

I would like a chance to get a SHARE OF THE $25K so HELP!!!!!

if the high end stuff your drilling is too strong i would say you must either not drill this (because it is ridculous how much it hooks) or u must drill it weak!

i have similar specs as you, maybe a little more speed and a touch more revs, PAP is 5 1/4 over 1/2 up. I to have struggled lately with equipment being to strong even with putting in my eyyes a weak drill on it. I can no longer go below 4 3/4 pin to PAP. They just flare to much and unless hihg volumes of oil ose to much energy.

I would say go 5 1/2 pin to PAP. pin in ring. With the MB 4.5 from PAP. That sounds like it would be a good versatile drill.

This is exactly what I did, and it was STILL way too much ball in OOB surface. After shining the snot out of it (over OOB), it is a THS monster!

Hey I love it when guys post, "my ball hooks to much for the lanes we are on"

Well then why drill a Bounty for that condition??????

And then why with all these strong drillings.

Here drill it like this and see if it hooks.

Put the pin under your Middle finger,  place the MB in your track.

This is like playing golf,  you don't use a 460 cc driver on a 150 yard par 3.

jls with a piece of the $25k pie at stake I would put it at 4k abby polish the piss out of it with snake oil and take all the hand out if necessary.

That's a good point.  I'm sorry I forgot about the pie.

Well then,  lay the ball out with the drilling I posted,  should be no problem!!!!

I bought the bounty for three reasons:

1. A piece of the $25K pie. Polish as required.
2. Nationals (end of Feb.'09). Dull as required.
3. Shark pattern next summer (PBAX league). Dull as required.

It's a good thing this ball is so responsive to cover changes
