Will my polished Respect be too similar to a Respect Pearl?
« on: September 17, 2015, 09:54:01 AM »
Thinking of buying a Respect Pearl. I already own the Respect and have it highly polished. I am afraid if I do but the pearl that both balls will react too similar to each other. I realize the respect has a stronger core then the pearl but really do not want 2 balls that are so close. Maybe pickup a Hyroad pearl instead of the Respect Pearl. I need a ball to give me maximum skid with a big back end. Respect gives me a great look for 1st 2 games but then it starts hitting weak when the oil carries down and the heads dry up. That is where a pearl should really help me out.  I also bowl 1 league at a wood house where a pearl ball would be better. Also looking at the Crux Pearl  Hyper Cell Skid and the Unhinged.  Suggestions welcome.  Thanks!!

If the oil is really carrying down, you might want a stronger ball and not something weaker

The Respect Pearl is not simply a "pearl" Respect.  Respect is 2.49/0.052 vs Respect Pearl's 2.52/0.047.  Respect has our 79 Alert shell vs. the Respect Pearl's 74 Response.  Definitely going to see more midlane and more overall hook from the Respect.  The purpose of the Respect Pearl was to offer a great compliment to the Respect.

The cores on both the Respect and Respect Pearl are similar but the core in the pearl was slightly tweaked. The pearl has a weaker cover with a higher RG and lower diff compared to the Respect. What that translates into is with the pearl you will have cleaner read through the heads and more push through the midlane. The feedback I have gotten from others is that the pearl has a strong, continuous backend motion as opposed to a quick transition on the dry and turning left. And yes, the Respect Pearl fits as a great compliment to the Respect and is a great ball down option. If you want more of a skid/snap motion, then the Dream would fit that description and be a step down from the Respect. A Black Ops is another ball that will fit the skid/snap motion as well. Hope this helps.

Also I am considering the Unhinged. Looks like a true skid snap type ball. Looks like between the Respect Pearl , Hyroad Pearl or the Unhinged.I currently have the Crux for heavy, Respect- heavy to medium, IQ Tour medium and  1 of these 3 balls for medium to light. Tough choices for sure.
