What do you all feel is Globals house shot killer this year
« on: March 16, 2015, 02:15:27 AM »
I bowl on typical 8yr old HPL synthetics, that play pretty wet/dry both front to back and side to side, although since they got that new automatic oiling machine, the tapers have been buffed out much smoother, resulting in a much less defined wall... Which helps me alot due to my stats below...
Im currently, struggling mostly due to too many 8, 9, and 10 pins in order to string enough in a row for many consistently good sets this year.  Im at 190 and im using only vibes this year. Except for a motiv recon last game if needed.  My bread and butter is playing 14 to 7-8 with my 50/ 3-15/16 /45 teal Vibe XR.  Then if im leaving those three deaded back pins ill swith to my green envy to mellow out the break point just a hair which also always goes through the pins better. I have plenty of balls and just about every vibe ever made.   But i really am liking the smoothness of the the new Break Down, as i think that might be the ticket for me. (with its lower differential and medium low int. Diff).
Anyone have any other suggestions
Im all ears

Speed off hand-15.5
Rev rate-260
Axis tilt-28*. Yes i know.
Axis rot-50-60
Pap 3-3/4 rt 1/4" up

I really need to decrease my tilt, but thats something to work on in the summer.

Just looking for a smooth not too aggressive assymetric to help my carry

Thanks,

If you're looking assym, Break Down is your ball. Maybe add some surface to it to smooth it out.

What Doom said on the Break Down. Very drill friendly. Also, if you want a little stronger backend move, go with a Dream On. Also, look at a Boost (any in the line), Xcite or Nighthawk SE (both from AMF). Those ones have been pretty good on not only THS, but sport patterns as well. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those options to be honest.

If you are using the Vibes, then i would suggest the Breakdown or go with AMF and get the Nighthawk which is also very predictable in its motion

Oh, Night Hawk is the way to go. My Boost is much longer and pretty angular compared to my Night Hawk, but he said assym. I would never tell anyone to not put holes in a Night Hawk. In fact, I'm going to make sure I have at least 2 NIB at the time they stop making them. Nothing flashy about it, just predictable and rolls great. Adjust the surface to match your amount of oil and strike at will.

I love the Night Hawk. :)

I would say that you couldn't go wrong with the break down. It has to be the smoothest ball I've ever owned. If you want a little more pop on the backend I would say drill up a Respect fairly weak and that could give that little bit more on the backend. Being wet/dry I wouldnt recommend it at factory shine. The breakdown should be a totally safe bet though. I love that ball so much!

Thanks Guys.... Thats exactlywhat i was hopijg to hear.  I really was hoping that you all would agree on the breakdown, as it rolls so true from what i have seen in the videos.
As for the Nighthawk, i too heard all great things from it, but  between all the vibes, i feel like it wouod easily overl lap them too much.  Whereas the boost, although i love the colors of them just would be too long and unpredictable with my tilt.

Im really thinking a pin down breakdown along the lines of 40x41/8x60 p3. Well see.  Id like to hear more if any one has something to add.

i agree on the breakdown as well its a smooth and predictable ball when the lanes get tough its definitely one of those balls you woukd like to have in your bag its very readable and it really seems to be at home on a ths shot.

My Friday Night House shot arsenal.  Pin Up and Pin Down Break Down!  Don't just drill one when you can drill two.

I dont have any trouble with any of the balls I have drilled up right now on any house shot.  they all work very well and are very versital as well.  the last few weeks I have been sticking with my Break Pearl on the even lane and my Dream on the odd lane and have had back to back 700 sets.  For me its very hard to take my Break Pearl out of the bag over the last 8 years because the balls just a beast and the carry aint so bad when im throwing it either.  as for the dream  the lanes play a little different on every pair so thats why I switch it up and get great carry with my dream as well.. I think theres not a bad ball in there line from past to present that wouldnt work on todays THS.

what I have drilled up now to throw,

Break Pearl   Respect    Break Down   Dream   Dream on  Network  Pure Hook   Mark Roth  Moxie  and the org Bounty    cant wait to add the Dream Big and Respect Pearl in the very near future
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

I for one have been hitting it well with the respect. Nice and clean threw the fronts and a monster backend. Im not a super high rev guy And can get left of some of the higer rev playiers. Fresh head oil is a bonus
