Title: HOOK
Post by: Tex on April 04, 2011, 08:47:14 AM
Anyone else noticed the new 900 Global HOOK series of balls are now on their website...S43 covers with mid 2.5 RG's. That is slightly stronger cover than the Missing Links and a totally different core. So for those that get the test balls. What are your thoughts?

Roll with 900 Global.

I'm hoping it fills the low end void.

I doubt it. Coverstock is stronger than the Missing LInks and core seems stronger also.

They don't really have anything for dry lanes or true light oil.

When I said low end I was actually referring to actually mid performance.  Something below the Eagle that has easy length with being able to have a more angular motion off the spot.  I'm thinking this could be the one I know they have been working on this type of reaction for sometime now.  I do like the colors though....

Glad I got my Missing Link when I did - it fills a need in the bag. As for something stronger like the Hook, I already have that spot filled nicely.

My red and yellow will be here tomorrow.  Looks like a pretty smooth piece for a polished solid.

I'm waiting for my pro shop to get their shipment and I'm debating which one to get.

I know it sounds like I'm in denial, but I'm not.

Ok, for those of you that now have and have thrown the Hook, how do you like them?  Which one, the polished or the sanded?  I was thinking of getting one of each, but not sold yet.

I have the purple/orange pearl and red/yellow polished solid (was for the wife, but came in as a 15lb). Love how the favorite and longshot match up and fit in (5x3 & 5x4 respectively). Kind of debating how to layout these two, but may go with same layouts as the favorite and longshot with these. Look like balls that are a little more rolly than skid/snap.

On a side note, would love to see a hybrid cover (i.e. shred-it cover) on either the profit line or favorite/longshot line....  I would think either of those cores would be money with that cover! Just my 2 cents.
