Hey Global Fam! Happy 2020 - much happiness and healthiness to you all :)
I'm getting an Inception DCT Solid (finally!). I have many questions about this ball compared to others, so I know how to lay it out. In folks experiences, how does this ball compare to
- a Flux
- original Inception solid (green one)
- Roto Grip Halo
- Dream On
Thank you!

Not sure you're going to get an answer now that our resident expert has left town...
But from what I remember on my DCT Solid, it was a LOT of ball!
-
DCT Solid is earlier then a Flux with a slower response to the friction(still strong just not as angular). It will cover more boards then a flux overall I would say for me it is about 4 stronger.
Compared to an Original Inception it was just more ball. Back end shapes were similar but the DCT out hooked the Inception by about an arrow and handled heavy oil better for me as it reads the midlane stronger.
Can't give you personal experience on a Halo but my impressions from seeing the halo roll would be, Halo is sharper then a DCT at the backend but total hook between the 2 is almost identical with the Halo maybe a board or so more and that might be more a visual thing because of its quicker response to the friction.
Dream On is a good foot or so longer on the lane as it is much cleaner up front(cover difference). It is fast response to friction and it would much better when opening a lane up as compared to the DCT. The dream on would be a good ball down from the DCT once the lane transitions and you need to migrate in.
-
Not safe to use an IT with those DCT balls IIRC though but probably knew that.

Aww, is Doom no longer on BR? Or no longer on 900 staff?

This is great info, Dan - thank you. I'm beginning to situate my Nationals arsenal, so I'm thinking about amount of friction generated, responses to friction, and shapes. I want to get cozy with them now so I can either fill a gap/fix a bad choice, and/or get used to them in competition.

Good info! I use molds, so I'm good, but good to know if (when) I'm done with it.

I used it at Nationals when it first came out and did very well. Read midlane well with nice pop on backend. Very good ball. Wasn't a fan of the pearl version but solid I thought was very solid oil ball

Wow! After reading DanScig's comments we may have found the new Doom for 900 Global products.??

This is great to know. I'm excited to get it from my friend to get it up and running!

Yeah mine was also earlier and not as much on the back. I would suggest to drill it long to not let it roll out.
Doom has left 900G, he's now over at Motiv...

Dan is a great guy. His videos always showed a good representation of the actual ball motion and he does know his stuff. And his analysis was spot on.
Btw, lucky. I tried to get one when I signed on, they were just discontinuing them, and had no more, so I got a DCT pearl and On. They're still nib. If you like the solid, let me know and I can get you the pearl for a good price. :)

100% noted! 15#? That's one ball I know exactly how I'd lay it out. Once I get tax returns, Uncle Jester may take Uncle Sam's $$ and give you a call!!

This is excellent news! Just what the doctor ordered.

You can use removable thumb with pin up drills but not pin down.

That makes sense. Thanks.

Update on my side, I finally dropped this bad boy off with the PSO to be plugged and drilled up. The layout on the ball is pretty solid for what I'm looking for - 50 x 5 x 30. This puts the pin up, about 1 inch above my ring finger. I should have it Saturday for some practice tosses.
I'll be comparing it to my Halo, Flux, and Dream On. I'll try to grab some video once I do compare.
