Is this true?  Does anybody have confirmation from 900G?  It appears that only 2 of their balls have an "E" rated coverstock - Red Alien and PBA Major.  PBA Major is only rated at 35, but the core pics do have more of a 900G look than any of the other manufacturers.  The other core pics have Brunswick written all over them.

Good for Elite.  Red Alien looks interesting, but it's too bad that I can get almost 3 900G balls for the price of 1 Elite!

3 for 1?  Sounds like a slight exaggeration, plus BP is running a promo on the Red Alien right now - 2 balls, a double roller, and free drilling for $289.99:

quote:

Once this promotion is over, this ball will list for $289.99 without any freebies.

With over a year spent on designing an all new unique E80 Reactive Cover and Saucer Symmetrical Core, the Elite Red Alien is ready to be released. Numerous tests were conducted to make what Elite feels is the best ball produced by any company ever!

Out of this world aggression, that's what to expect from the new Alien. Designed to combat the slickest lane conditions, thanks to the E80 coverstock, our highest friction coverstock. When you purchase this Red Alien Package, you will receive:
One (1) Elite Red Alien Ball
One (1) FREE Elite Red Alien Ball ($289.99 value)
One (1) FREE Elite Double Platinum Roller Bag ($89.99 value)
Free Professional Drilling Service for both Red Aliens
A 30 day money back guarantee*
You will receive a total of (2) Red Aliens.

Drill one for yourself and one for a friend. Either way you will be receiving over $669 worth of merchandise for only $289.99 which includes free drilling. You save over $379 and better yet, it comes with a money back guarantee! We will only have 500 of these packages available and they will go quickly. Elite Red Aliens will arrive April 29, 2009 and balls will be drilled on a first come, first served basis.
* Requirements to qualify for money back guarantee:
Balls must be drilled by BowlersParadise.com Professional Staff.
Returns must be received by BowlersParadise.com within 30 days of order being placed.
All items in order must be returned. No partial returns will be accepted.
Bag must be unused and in original packaging.
Balls must be in original packaging and in reasonable condition.
Once these conditions are met, the customer will receive $289.99 credited back in the same form in which payment was received.
Please note that shipping and additional items related to drilling will not be credited back such as grips, slugs and custom thumbs.

Not sure how the ball will react, but if E80 is anything like the other ratings, this should be a strong ball.  AMF's Mega Friction is rated at 81.

You still have to pay for inserts/slugs and shipping.

Still, adding inserts & slug to both balls and shipping ($50) it comes to $380 for 2 balls and a double roller.

Not sure what the roller is comparable to, but a similarly priced package from Buddies will run you $475 - that's for 2 Mega Frictions, a KR Special Edition Roller, and drilling services (with slug and inserts).  I guess it's probably closer to $455 - I see that Buddie's is offering 20% off drilling.
