Title: Is the Link series discontinued?
Post by: JessN16 on July 21, 2009, 12:28:43 PM
I wanted to buy one of the rose/white Links last month and ordered through bowlingball.com and they reported back as out of stock. They've tried to find some the last couple of weeks and told me today they "had heard from the factory that no more of that ball would be made," referring perhaps specifically to the rose/white color combination of the Link in 16 pounds.

I then ordered one from Buddie's and I got the feeling after swapping emails that their stock was a little thin, too.

I'd hate to hear this ball is discontinued -- not enough good light-oil stuff out there with real cores. Anyone heard anything?

The rose in the 2009 catalog is not made in 16lbs. 10-15 only.

With Rose and White being primarily being a womens ball, at least that would be the intended audience, why would they make an excessive amount of 16 lbs? There are 3 other colors to choose from, so why overstock an item not intended for a select audience. Now with that being said, I do have a Pink and White link, but it is 15 lbs

All the Links are attractive. I guess I could have gotten the one with the maroon/gold scheme but I like using stuff with wild color schemes, so I opted for the rose/white. I'm sure it will get a few looks...lol

sorry to hijack, but does the red/black Link have a dull finish? the rest look like they're polished.

The Red/Black is polished. It is actually just a part solid/part pearl coverstock thats the difference.

Does that mean the red/black one is different than the others?

there was a thread about this awhile back. Im pretty sure Eric Thomas said that this is more of a color thing than an actually difference in reaction

No your wrong. It is part pearl part solid.

Just a follow-up FYI...

There apparently has never been a 16-pound Link in the rose/white scheme. Both bowlingball.com and Buddies were showing one on their sites but neither have them. Buddies called me today to tell me that ball is not available in 16 (probably owing to its more "ladylike" color scheme).

I have the rose/white in 15, great ball very deceptive, and far from a light oil peice
