Link initial impressions
« on: March 08, 2009, 06:19:34 AM »
Just drilled up a Blue/Purple Link.  Went with the pin 5" from PAP, 4-1/2" pin buffer, MB 3-1/2" from PAP and a weight hole at P2 location using the Gradient Line balance hole method.  Had it drilled on Friday and tried it during warmup in league that night.  Ball had excellent length and a very hard snap on the backend.  Didn't feel comfortable with it, so I put it away.  Took it to the spinner at home and hit it with a white Scotchbrite pad, just to knock some of the factory shine off of it.

Took it out this morning for practice.  Shot was a 39 ft house shot on synthetics.  Ball reacted much more smoothly with the factory shine knocked off.  Still had the great length, with less backend reaction and very controlable at the break point.  The Link is exactly what I was looking for in a light oil ball.  I may consider taking it down to 4000 Abralon, but I want to continue throwing it as is for now.  Very impressed at the performance for the price.
