Its too bad Wesley Low's look on the telecast with this ball was awful. Didnt do the ball any justice.

Ok, is this ball Microcell or urethane? I've seen/heard conflicting info.
-
Everything I’ve seen says “MCP†for the cover. MCP is short for MicroCell Polymer- which is the same base cover as the Covert, Tank, and Desert and is not urethane.

According to a local staffer (who I personally didn't talk to yet - I will see him tonight or I can FB message him) it's urethane. A mutual friend that I bowl with on tuesdays told me he said this.
Then there is this: https://www.bowlersmart.com/product/motiv-tank-blue-urethane-bowling-ball/ which is where I believe the confusion lies. They mention MCP in the write-up, but it says urethane in multiple spots. I believe the text is just highlighting the change to Microcell and now the need (again) for true urethane.
ETA: Ok, I messaged the staffer and he now says MCP. Says the info was probably changed. But who knows for sure. Bowlersmart mentions both. Another site has it as urethane.

As a staffer we haven't been told anything on them yet, and the pros that got them at the majors got them in boxes that were plain and just said blue tank, no specs on the boxes.
I'd caution believing what you've heard, and wouldn't expect much public info until the Mythic is released.

Agreed on nothing official. I hope it’s MCP. So does several of my customers.

I'll likely get one at some point either way. I've owned most of the Tanks. I think my favorite urethane one was the Rebel. Favorite MCP, the Desert. We did discuss it in league last night and it does sound like it's MCP, but I guess we wait and see the official specs.

Motiv says this about the Tank covers, they call it a special urethane. Is it a hybrid urethane mix? Like my Shadow Ops being a 80% urethane and 20% resin?
The Tank™ series changed forever with the introduction of Microcell Polymer technology. While Microcell Polymer (MCP) is now recognized as the solution for the ball motion gap between reactive resin and urethane, MCP does not replace urethane completely. With that in mind, MOTIV® has been in pursuit of a truly special urethane cover stock that provides adequate traction on modern lane surfaces conditioned with the high volume, high viscosity oil patterns competitive bowlers see so regularly.

It's that last line that makes it sound like it isn't MCP. Honestly, if its something similar to Shadow Ops, I will be all over it. Regret selling that ball. Based on pics though, it doesn't look like it. Still could be some kind of blend though, like the UC3, Pitch Purple, Badger Infused, etc.

That description is from the Purple Tank, not the upcoming Blue Tank.

Going back and watching the West region finals with Wesley throwing it, it looks more like a pearl version of the Purple Tank in my eyes rather than a MCP ball (Desert,Blitz,Covert)
