Title: My new :toy
Post by: stormed1 on December 05, 2008, 08:38:50 AM
Got my Maniac in yesterday and punched it up last night. Ball is laid out 5 x 3 1/2 pin up. Surface was adjusted up to 3000 using the Valentino samding pads ( awesome product by the way) and an application of Snake Oil.
box specs 15 lb 3 oz
3 1/4 top weight
4 inch pin

ending 3/4 side  1/4 finger 1 /2 top.

Will post a review next week but couldn't resist showing this one off :-)

Nice looking stormed1.  Let us know how it compares to your AMF Code 5 x 3 1/2 pin up....I'd be interested to know a comparison between the two.

Thanks!

Where did you get this thing?  Looks like the pin is in excess of 5" from the CG.

Found it on Ebay with a $84.95 buy it now. Pin is 4 inches. The place that had them listed has a lot of 900g at xheap prices. most are either 0-1 or 5 inch pins and cg way out of line with high top. this ball was 15 3 3 1/4 and a 4 inch pin so i snatched it up

Just by looking at it, it looks like 5+ inches based on where the CG is normally located on this ball.  Plus, that's not seeing it in person.  Plus as you said, CG way out of line so I am assuming the CG wasn't in the 900 Global's label.

Quite the contrary. I confirmed the cg befor i drilled it and it was dead on. As this is a symetric ball there is no marked mass bias for ity to be out of line with. The ones they were selling that were out of line were all in the break family. Also as far as looks go keep in mind my span is 4 1/2
