Just need some feedback
« on: September 14, 2012, 06:07:07 PM »
Hey guys and girls I was just wondering if any one could compare the train to the look. I got a train a few months ago and have been going lights out since I got it. I have never had a ball thats so even rolling it just does not stop all around great ball. Just thinking I want to try another global ball and like how smooth the look seems.

The Look is more of a skid flip reaction. Very strong on the backend and more angular than the Train. I used the Train on the Scorpion with decent results but it is too strong for the THS at my local center. Still a good ball, just need a bit more oil in the mid lanes than we have right now. Expect it to work well at some of the tournaments we travel to during the year and once the weather cools down a bit.

Well what else in there new line would give me the same rolly even reaction as my train but maybe just a bit weaker.

I've loved what I have seen of the Sure Thing. Seems slightly stronger than the old Favorite, but uses the same cover, and is symmetric. It might have slightly more of a backend than the Train, but the right drilling could put you on the same road.

Stock Look surface is 4000 grit Abralon; going to E pad is 1500 grit. Big change.
Yes, it will smooth it out; it might also burn up in the midlane and leave 5-7s or 8-10s, unless you have firm ball speed or a good amount of rotation or a good amount of tilt. Like using a smaller Drill angle, it will make the ball earlier, but will it be too early? At least with cover stock changes, no change is permanent; you can always change it up and down. This is rhe finnesse part of surface management!

Had the advantage to roll all of the new 900 and AMF stuff recently. The Sure Thing has a nice smooth arc. It was next on my list until the PBA announcement which forced my to reconsider my options. I actually was placing my order when I got the news. Ball rolled really nice and hit was typical 900. I would also say a notch up from the Favorite but not near as aggressive as the Train.  The Train is my favorite 900 since the Break Out.
