HELP!!!!
« on: September 24, 2009, 11:41:27 PM »
Hi All,
I'm a 184 avg., I use a Stinger @ which I bought 10 yrs ago. I'm looking to buy a new ball.
I throw a straight ball on the second arrow thats curves into the pocket at the backend.
Any suggestions for a new ball?
Thanks,
Perry

As you posted this in the 900 Global forum, I'll presume you're interested in their equipment.

I'd recommend a Creature or Creature Pearl.  Although discontinued, they're not hard to find.  If you want something a touch stronger, try the Maniac or Lunatic, though I'm pretty sure you'll have a hard time playing them straight up...you'll probably have to swing them a little.

Hi
I'm sorry, I didn't know which topic to post under as I am new to this website.
If I'm posting in the wrong area please direct me to the right area.
In answer to the question, yes, I'd like to take my game to another level
but basically I wanted a replacement ball for my old one as its so old.
Thanks for any help.

posting here is fine.. if you are looking for a certain company you can post under them also.. for a question like this you can post under miscellaneous for bowling(there are 2 miscellaneous, make sure you have the correct one when posting), beginners board or another company.. someone will answer your questions most of the time.. a replacement ball for your stinger would probably be a light/med to med ball..

900 global  a link, creature, creature pearl, maniac, lunatic

amf a heist, villain, the code, night hawk pearl they also have some newer stuff out too

storm a t-road solid, t-road pearl, fast or a furious

roto grip a illusion, grand illusion, normad solid or pearl

the list goes on from columbia to brunswick to hammer etc. etc.. etc...
look for a  lower costing ball to start.. you really don't need/have to go out and spend alot aof money right away to get a great ball.. work on your game(maybe talk to a coach or one of the better bowlers you respect and have them watch you)) and go from there getting into the more expensive higher end balls later.. hope this helps alittle and keep the questions coming.. someone will definetly answer you.. slashrr69

I'm going to have to disagree with these suggestions as he's currently using a Stinger, which is basically an old Ebonite dry lane ball.  So suggesting something like a T-Road Solid is a massive jump.  Furious with a bit weaker drilling or maybe even an Onyx vibe from hammer would be 2 very good choices IMO.  The Onyx is going to give you a bit more late break as the Furious would be smoother.  These are both basically a step up from something like a Stinger and either would be an excellent building block towards the future of your game.
