Black Eagle Pearl - newest member of the Eagle Family
« on: October 29, 2013, 09:09:05 PM »
Definitely the ball to help raise your league average on medium to dry lanes. The minute I picked up this ball, the reaction was amazing!  As a down-and-in, medium speed bowler, I think this ball is the perfect addition for any arsenal on a house shot. The attractive pearl finish helps the ball move down the lane smoothly and the Break Core finishes with an aggressive drive into the pocket.  This is a great new member to the Eagle family! No bowler can go wrong with this ball.

 ;D The Eagle Pearl
DRILLED THE BALL PIN IN THE RING FINGER WITH 4 1/2 PIN TO PAP FOR MORE LENGHT. BALL IS VERY SMOOTH THROUGH THE HEADS,PICKS UP GREAT ROLL MIDLANE WITH VERY HARD HIT IN THE POCKET. THIS COULD BE THE BEST EAGLE TO DATE. THIS BALL DOES NEED OIL,MED-MED HEAVY WILL DO THE TRICK.

come on,my Eagle is a medium oil ball at best. polish it up and its a great ball to cover ten pins. looking at this ball for a step down from the eagle but a heavy oil ball? I don't think so.

If your Eagle is a medium oil ball at best, you must be very speed dominant.

Are we talking about the Black Eagle or the New Eagle Pearl?  I do agreed that the New Eagle Pearl is good for Medium and the Black Eagle is good for Heavy.

Nope. 17 mph,10* tilt and more revs then most.
given the same cover prep I've found my Black Eagle to be weaker then my Bank, point break pearl, plague and my back lash. I do like the ball for short oil though. if I pick up the pearl and find it to be stronger I would be shocked.
or maybe what I consider medium everyone else considers heavy oil?

Sounds more like its burning up a little if its weaker than those.....with some surface the eagle can handle oil.....

The Black Eagle is much stronger than a Backlash or Plague, and several boards stronger than a Break Point Pearl.  At its box finish (NEAT - 4,000) it should backend more than the Bank, which should hook more overall but earlier on the lane.

sorry, don't see that. the ball oob is medium oil at its best. doubt the pearl version is stronger. maybe on the ths and shorter patterns but get the eagle on some long flat mediums and it's a dart. could be the cover is done, could be the layout but I don't think so.
the pointe break pearl sanded in 4k was really strong and so is the bank.the plague with 1k sanded and compound buff is a hook monster with way to much backend for me.
I feel the OP had it right and is ridiculus that any one would consider the BEP to be a great heavy oil ball unless thye throw it at 8 mph.
BTW I talked to my pro shop operator who has been in the business his whole life and is also a big fan of the break series and said med-dry lane ball at best.

the Black Eagle Pearl isn't designed to be a heavy oil ball, 900 Global lists it in the medium-heavy category. With the S70 Pearl cover, it falls more into the medium category unless you have slow ball speed and/or surface.

the original Black Eagle is also in the medium-heavy category, but depending on the bowler and layout, it will fall more into the medium category if the bowler has higher ball speed/low rev rate or if the layout dictates a more delayed reaction without changing the surface.

Every ball does not move the same from the factory, you dont know if the ball you got was finished with a new pad or was finished when the pad was almost done. If you've thrown a lot of games on a ball and its not moving like it used to, it's probably time to de-oil and resurface.

I have no trouble making my Black eagle pearl move on the backend and I throw the ball over 18.5MPH. it works really well on your THS or shorter oil patterns and also works as well for me on longer oil patterns if I slow my ball speed down to 17MPH.  for me my strongest ball in the bag is the org. Break. that ball is just a beast in oil.  :D
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)
