Title: New Blue/Purple Link
Post by: JD74 on December 03, 2008, 07:35:27 AM
Does anyone have the new link? I am a high rev(around 480), medium ish speed (17 ish) lefty. I want it for a dry lane ball for 2nd/3rd shift tournament shot where everything else will be coming up high. I want a ball that will give me the length I need and give me a nice move on the backend but wont overreact off the dry. Would this fit the bill? What do you guys think of yours? Hows it drilled and what does it do?

Thanks

I am thinking angle series would be better or a Neptune.

If you're curious you can check my specs in my profile.

My Link is drilled pin over bridge over CG.  The cover is OOB.

For me the Link is very smooth, even, predictable, controllable whereas my Neptune was over under and jumpy drilled the same way.  The Link gets easy length and makes a defined mild to medium arc without over reaction.

I do not have nearly as many revs as you but felt I could describe how the Link reacts for me.  There could be potential for it to be stronger than you need based off your stats but that is up to your discretion.

ok, i dont have 480rpms, but i do have about 400+ most of the time...the link is MONEY! drilled it pin axis. and keep the mass bias negative. thats all i have to say. It doesnt carry very well from inside lines but you never really need to get that deep with it. You being left handed should be perfect if you drill it like this...it just takes the easy length of the ball and creates a roll, not a snap off the spot. my neptune i have is drilled 6.5 pin to pap and it is still a lot of ball when they are dry, the link is great!

JD,

I loved the link for lighter oil to dry lane conditions. I have a very high rev rate with slower speeds. It lets me play very easy on the drier conditions. I would recomend the link for drier lanes over alot of bowling balls out there today.
