Didn't get one for the Infused? :P
-
I do not think the staffers have enough room in their spare bedrooms to keep up with 900G's release schedule. This makes 15 bowling balls in 12 months or 22 in 18 months (counting an Infused if missed).
https://www.bowlingthismonth.com/ball-manufacturer/900-global/ (https://www.bowlingthismonth.com/ball-manufacturer/900-global/)
Also, why do the Ordinance's have 2 different cores?
-
That being said, I'm super excited about the whole release lineup. (Yes yes yes, I'm a staffer. So what.)
If I can name one ball I'm super eager to get in the bag, it's the Ordinance Pearl.

Boy, I understand that, man. It's hard!
Ordinance Solid looks like a strong Titan. Core shape looks very similar, numbers are almost identical. If you never threw a Titan, get you some.
Now the Pearl is gonna be the big backend ball. S70 pearl with the Drift core. Long and strong. The pair are going to complement each other very well.
-
These releases are really interesting. If I were to build a whole new arsenal, 900 global has pretty much everything covered.
Ordinances look like they should be great
I'll take the Ordinance Solid, Volt, After Dark Solid, and a Boost. That should take care of any house shot
-
Volt is one grabs my attention. 2 piece pearl with a light bulb. Has there ever been a light bulb core ball that was a total turd? If so sure a lot more that were killer.
-
My supplier didn't have a tech sheet on the Infused listed. only pricing
-
Considering im drilling some new stuff this week, AD Solid, AD Pearl's (both of them), and a Inception DCT, the ones that interest me are the Ordinance Solid with the S70 and the Ordinance Pearl with the Drift core. The Volt looks interesting. My only question is on some of the balls, the diff on the 14lb stuff is so much lower than everything else. Could that be a typo?

No filler leads to bigger differences in core dynamics

Yes but look at the Volt numbers. They seem off. This was also my question because that ball looks sweet. And I agree with BowlingForDonuts that the lightbulb is a guaranteed winner.
16lb 2.52 .049
15lb 2.56 .047
14lb 2.64 .023

Brunswick even used 3 different core shapes for the Quantum Bias because of the no filler differences
-
I'm betting that is a typo and the number should be 43, not 23.
-
That orange ball sure looks interesting as all shit.
I need to reassess my arsenal so I can make room for something, lol
-
I'm betting that is a typo and the number should be 43, not 23.
I shouldn't bet. Volt and Flux are true 2 piece like the Badgers. Sorry!!
-
The. Flux. Is. A. Two. Piece!!! :o :o :o
-
That's what I'm being told.
-
The Volt looks like the Eon core with a cap at bottom. Unless im looking at it wrong.

Ah got ya. At that angle hard to see the blade part. Probably still going to be somewhat light bulbesq hopefully.
-
ordnance has the Org Creature series core in it should be interesting with a much stronger cover then the creature series was :)
-
Flux looks to be like the Continuum core with a cap on the bottom
-
Ill take a ball with filler and get a better diff than whatever benefit the 2 piece supposedly offers. Id love to have another light bulb core also!

Ordinance Pearl is plenty of diff!
-
So the flux and volt took eon and continuum cores, added a cap and made them 2 piece?
-
Will the ordinance solid be close to a dark matter? Or is there another ball in current line that would be closer?
-

Ordinance Solid is going to be benchmark. Dark Matter was more angular, so I'd say the pearl will be closer, but the white hot is probably the closest.

Thank goodness, cuz it looked like a roto Daredevil core but skinnier.
That line was meh, didn't carry.
-
I'm probably gonna get the orange one 😎

So, it's a day after the releases were posted. I'm donating 3 balls tonight, and probably giving away a few more to make room for at least one...or more...of these, lol
#giddy!
@Doom: How do you see the Flux comparing to a Black Ops?

Bit more board coverage, earlier and smoother. The Continuum core just isn't as torquey as the Break core.

Completely disagree with this. Loved the Daredevil and the Trick. Didn't like the Danger, but not due to carry issues. I switched to the Trick one night after a slow start with the Fused. Finished 26 of 28.
-
Doom, I heard they’re discontinuing the black ops. Any truth? Glad I have a case of them lol.

Sadly, yes. I requested a military funeral.
-
it'll be back in about 6 months. They have released 5 different Break's (s70/Break Core). They just need a new logo for the side of the ball.

Really wonder how often I'll need that much hook...
More interested in the lower lines- Ordinance S+P and infused.

That's a real solid shape, wow. If my Black Ops doesn't come, I might get this as my benchmark asym.

Pigment color can affect ball motion though. Not taking chances just ordered mine to squirrel away. Reactive ball that has been on the market for 3+ years (edit: wow almost 4) is usually one worth having. New release are exciting but not much I hate worse than buying a flash in the pan turd on hype. Let staffers live on the bleeding edge.

900 Global Volt Bowling Ball
The S72Râ„¢ Pearl Coverstock utilizes the same base formulation as the S72â„¢ Pearl Coverstock. However, we have added a catalyst that will greatly increase the backend motion while also maintaining the perfect balance of traction in the oil. The Chargedâ„¢ Symmetric Core is a new design that features the same shape as the Oloidâ„¢ Core found in the Eonâ„¢. We have added a flip block to the bottom of the core. This will provide a drastic change of direction at the breakpoint. The Voltâ„¢ will provide the most backend within the 900 Global product line.
900 Global Flux Bowling Ball
The S72Râ„¢ Coverstock utilizes the same base formulation as the S72â„¢ Coverstock. However, we have added a catalyst that will greatly increase the performance on the backend while also maintaining great traction in the oil. The Amplifyâ„¢ Core is a new design that features the same shape as the Ellipticonâ„¢ Core found in the Continuumâ„¢. We have added a flip block to the bottom of the core though. This will increase the differential and maximize torque at the breakpoint.
900 Global Badger Infused Bowling Ball
The ALL NEW Badger Infused features the popular Lacerate™ Symmetric Core found in the White Hot Badger™. The coverstock is a brand new concept for us at 900 Global. We have blended together conventional urethane and reactive urethane components. 70% of the cover is reactive resin, and 30% is traditional urethane. The Badger Infused™ will come into play on shorter patterns when traditional urethane isn’t giving the desired reaction. Higher rev players should be able to create a good look on some medium patterns as well.
900 Global Ordnance Bowling Ball
The Ordnance™ represents a re-booting of the 600 Series. It will be the obvious choice for that baseline type reaction that every bowler needs in their bag. The Shrapnel™ Symmetric Core features a low rg and medium differential. Perfect for quick revs and a controlled motion off the end of the pattern. Wrapped around the core is the venerable S70™ Solid Coverstock. This is the same cover that was made famous by it’s use on the Black Ops™. Expect to see the perfect balance of length and responsiveness to friction.
900 Global Ordnance Pearl Bowling Ball
The Ordnanceâ„¢ Pearl will be the perfect compliment to the Ordnanceâ„¢ Solid. Both balls feature the same great S70â„¢ Coverstock made famous by the Black Opsâ„¢. The Ordnanceâ„¢ Pearl is offered in a polished, pearl version. At the heart of the Ordnanceâ„¢ Pearl is the medium rg/high differential Projectileâ„¢ Symmetric Core. This core will offer a completely different motion than the Ordnanceâ„¢ Solid. It will be perfect when looking to maximize backend reaction once the pattern breaks down
-
"The Voltâ„¢ will provide the most backend within the 900 Global product line."
Hmm... will be interesting to see it compared to the Honey Badger.
-
Glad to see the R additive return in S72 form.
Disappointed in all the balls that are being discontinued. Can't remember all the balls listed for retirement, but quite a few voids being created. In fairness, the 600 series needed some revamping because most of those balls were way stronger than their number scheme suggested.
-
That Badger infused looks to be a house shot killer for a lower revs/speed player such as myself. I love that manufacturers are playing with these blends... Storm Fever Pitch also comes to mind here.
I wonder how this ball will compare to the After Dark Pearl, another 900G ball that has been calling my name.
-
Is the Claw going away? Notices on Buddies it is $94.95. And they are listing it with stock numbers like balls that are going away. I love the HB and don't own a claw yet so wondering if I need to pull the trigger now before it is too late.

My Guess- totally different shapes. The infused will start up much earlier and have control of the backend; the ad pearl clears the fronts like plastic but will have a sharper backend. They’re not really substitutes. If your backends are burnt go for the infused; if the heads are burnt go for the ad pearl.

I hate to hijack this thread, but you guys are killing me with the AD Pearl. I haven’t owned a 900G ball in years but this one has been calling my name!

I have two of them. No regrets with that ball. Beautiful reaction. I sometimes use it on the fresh, slow down and hook the lane with my pin down ADP.

Will 900 Global keep all four of the urethane (and urethane-ish) balls in the lineup? Between the Boo-Yah!, Shadow Ops, Honey Badger Urethane, and Badger Infused they actually are all different pieces so it wouldn't be a terrible idea.
-
Shadow and Booyah are discontinued. Shadow has been for a.little bit, Booyah just got dropped.
-

Ah... I've been out of the loop for a few months. Makes sense to keep the HBU and Badger Infused as the two options though. True urethane and the hybrid type that's all the rage right now.
-
I find it interesting that i believe the Shadow Ops was an 80/20 urethane/reactive mix and the Badger Infused is a 70/30 reactive/urethane mix. With the different ratio's, what is the reaction difference going to be on the lane.
-
Cover wise, probably not noticable. Core wise, the Infused shouldn't be as forward when it come off the end of the pattern.
-
I'll be getting the following:
Flux - Certainly don't need this ball, especially in our house throwing two handed. I just like the look of it. But I do plan to start hitting more tournaments out of town next year, so it could come in handy.
Badger Infused - I've basically settled on urethane on our current house shot. Back ends fly, so resin is usually out the window. Middle hooks more, so makes it tough getting inside as well. Already have a ton of urethane. Already have a Fever Pitch. But still going to get this ball.
Polyester - Need a pancake plastic ball so I can start throwing two handed at all spares. My Midnight Sniper still has a switch grip installed, so technically can't throw it two handed. The Widow Spare balls generally hook too much. So I've stayed one handed at certain spares for the most part.
I'd maybe consider a Volt as well if I was on long patterns more often. Currently bowling on Shark in our summer pba shot league. Space Time and White Hot Badger performed well the other night.
-
I'm going to say this right now. Do not pass over the Ordinances. I repeat. Do not pass over the Ordinances.
-
I'm going to say this right now. Do not pass over the Ordinances. I repeat. Do not pass over the Ordinances.
I'll definitely be getting the Ordinance Solid. I'll have to ask Robert Smith when I see him Saturday night when he's expecting them.
I've been wanting a middle of the road solid, I got a Melee Cross this past year but I went with a longer pin down layout so it labors if the backend isn't pretty clean
-
I'm going to say this right now. Do not pass over the Ordinances. I repeat. Do not pass over the Ordinances.
Already have plenty of balls that fill those spots - which I can't use most of the time. I'm throwing 14lbs, so sometimes that lower diff in the two piece balls comes in handy.
-
so, is the ordinance basically a symmetrical cored, solid covered Badger with a little weaker cover? Not that that would be a bad thing, but why not just put the symmetrical core in a solid Badger S71 cover and sell a ton of product.
-

In my eyes, no it's not. Badger's lacerate core is high rg and has design intent to be easy length and torquey backend.
Ordinance Solid is low rg, mid diff meant to be benchmark reaction.
They also already have the Claw with the Honey Badger Shrapnel core + S71 solid
-
Can we add the infused info into the OP?
-
My bad. Thought the Ordinance core was the same core that was used in the White hot badger. See the difference now.

Are there any other videos of the other balls?
I see them all on the ball return of the Flux video :P

Ok, time to speak on this. One, #marketing.
Two, even though it's normal to state that this ball is the most this and most that, you still need to take physics into account. This is the Eon core with a bottom flip block. Compared to the Eon and EI, it's going to create more torque downlane.
Now, as for the most backend, if I'm looking for fast downlane, I'm going to still go with either a Ordinance pearl or Honey Badger. Core shape dictates that. Taller cores with smaller Val angles are going to transition faster.
Maybe the cover is a bit more traction or creates a bit more friction, but it's still physics, friends.

Due to the higher diff, the Ordinance is going to be slightly less hockey stick.

I may be wrong! Wwrd is 7/16. Get one!
-
Doom, that's interesting. I never knew that taller cores transition quicker.
What would you say are some of the quickest transitioning cores (for any brand)?
-
Well, paired with the proper cover, let's look at my stuff because #900Global lol
Ordnance pearl. Tall inner core with 2 flip blocks. Core has been in the OMG Pearl, Drift, Rip it, and the Black Mamba. Essentially 2.55 .055 for most of them, rip it being slightly higher RG and lower diff, but you get the point. OMG Pearl was F73 pearl, Black Mamba was F74 solid.
The taller the core, the more it's going to tumble. It's much like the analogy of the figure skater spinning. With their arms out, they spin slow (higher RG) and as they tuck their arms towards their center of gravity, they spin faster (lower rg).
As you put more mass towards the cover of the ball, the less energy it's going to expend early because it's not going to rev hard off your hand. Very much like how you imagine resin to be. Long and snappy. Take the old Morpheus core from the Track Freak line. In particular, the Phenom. I put a 65*5*40 on that ball, and it never read the lane. Ever. Every one of those balls I had to go 45*4.5*65 or stronger to get them to read the lane properly for me. Tall cores with a huge flip block on them. The Xception was my one standout where I went 60*5.5*65 and the thing hooked out of the building because the cover and core matched up so well.
So when balls don't read early, they can float downlane without spending lots of energy reading the pattern, so when a Boost gets downlane without using a lot of energy, when the cover finally sees friction, the core says "Ok, we have all this stored energy, so let's use it all right now to go the direction we're rotating."
So after my long tangent, when paired with the correct cover, tall cores will transition faster than squat cores. Ordinance Solid is the opposite shape of the Pearl, and that's gonna be our benchmark smooth ball.
-
Can’t wait for the other videos. Hope my PSO doesn’t get them in so soon, he’s typically really fast...

Thank you for this, Doom! In my head, I never put the figure skater analogy and taller/shorter core idea together. But after reading it the way you put it, and looking up the Ordnance Pearl core, it makes plenty of sense.

It's my pleasure, as always, my friend.

Badger infused Video is up. I'm kinda impressed. Can't wait to see a few other vids on this one.

That Ordnance Pearl is VERY intriguing! I feel like that core would let me move in get some strong motion in the back. Do you guys think there's overlap between an Ordnance Pearl and HB and/or Bubblegum Boost?

Between the boost and ordnance? No way. HB and ordnance? Maybe...

30.

The Infused looks like controlled domination. Smooth and then BAM!! I may have to break out and get 2 of these for our THS.

The continuation on the Infused looks ridiculous!

Frankly it looks the best out of all the releases so far.

They all look great. I was thinking about how I wanted to lay out my Volt, and decided it looked a lot like my old Track Crash. Drilling it like that

I must agree the Infused looks like one of the best releases coming out. But i'm not into all that hook from the others so that's just me.

Barnes is killing it with the Volt days 2 and 3 at Weber Cup

Barnes is killing it with the Volt days 2 and 3 at Weber Cup
He has been throwing the Flux from all the videos I saw days 2-3. Day 1 he was throwing the Badger Infused. Simonson dominated all week, I don't think he even lost 1 match.
-
My bad . It was the Flux

Probably cuz the volt shoulda been the name for the orange one lol

Ok, my friends. I want to ask a question. Compare Infused to White hot to show off cover difference, or compare to HBU and maybe a Shadow to show difference in cores.
You call its!

I think comparing the urethane options would highlight things well.
