Title: New to global
Post by: vindo27 on September 08, 2019, 11:14:48 AM
Been a storm roto guy for awhile now and just bought my first global ball since the bounty hunter( which I thought was a turd). I bought an ordnance pearl based off a teammates success with the drift. I hope it’s as good as it looks in the videos because I would love to buy some more balls from global in the future. Has anyone thrown it and have some solid insight on it?

Welcome to the family!

The Ordnance Pearl is a high rg high diff pearl ball, so there's going to be plenty of lope with plenty of backend. If you like that shape, a good ball down is a Boost, good ball up is a Flux.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

I was looking at the flux as well, but just got a physix in a summer ball league so I wanted a different shape and reaction. I can say the new global stuff looks really good and is reminding me of the stuff storm was putting out 10 years ago that made me a fan of them

If no Flux, then you need a Claw in your life.

Welcome! I was a Storm & Brunswick guy for ages, and then I got turned into Global. IMO, Global rolls a lot like Roto Grip stuff.

I'm a fan of Global covers - they have the widest variety of cover strengths out of any brand or family of brands. I highly suggest their benchmark balls. The Truth Tour and X2 are two of my favorite balls, and are great balls for grinding out a game when the lanes aren't cooperating.

Well the ball just came and although the box was marked 3.5-4 inch pin the ball inside has like a 2-2 1/4 inch pin. Will I still be able to lay it out pin up?

Yeah, you're good. The CG (center of gravity) affecting drills & reactions is an urban legend. Use any pin distance with any top weight however you want!
