New 2016/2017 Lineup review so far
« on: June 23, 2016, 03:24:37 PM »
Speed    17MPH
Rev rate   450
PAP   4-7/8 and 1/3 up
Axis Tilt   15 degrees
Axis Rotation   30 degrees

"Inception 50x5.75x30
The new Inception from 900 Global is the newest high end addition to the Tour Engineered line and proves a very aggressive piece of equipment. When testing the 4 new balls in the line for 2016/2017, the Inception was a good 5 boards more overall hook for me than the next in line (Truth). The Inception utilizes a new core technology (Adaptor) by changing densities in the interlocking design; in this instance to create an asymmetric core. This core technology is shared with the Truth, but with the Truth having a symmetric core shape. The Inception reads the oil very well even with just the 4000 finish out of box. Bringing the surface down even more will allow for more traction in basically any amount of heavy oil you may encounter.

"Truth 45x5.5x35
The new Truth from 900 Global is the newest addition to the Prime line and utilizes the Adaptor Core technology shared with the Inception, but for the Truth, it uses a symmetric shape core due to density changes. The Truth rolls very similarly to the Respect Solid, but a few more boards overall from my testing so far. This is an ideal choice to ball down from the Inception when the lanes become a little dryer or the backend reaction is a bit too sharp with an asymmetric piece of equipment.

"Special Ops 50x5x30
The new Special Ops from 900 Global is the newest addition to the Preferred line. This ball compliments the Black Ops very well. Using one of the best cores ever produced from 900 Global, the Break Core, this ball is a great value with asymmetric performance in a mid-level price point. As compared to the Black Ops, the Special Ops is a bit less overall hook and smoother off the break point. This ball still clears the heads very well, while creating a strong back end motion that bowlers love to see. This should be one of the first balls out of your bag to judge lane conditions for a benchmark reaction.

"Drift 50x5x60
The new Drift from 900 Global is the newest addition to the Tour Preferred line. This ball is a bit of a step up from the last release in the line, The X with more length and backend reaction. When the lanes are drying up, or you are bowling on a lighter oil condition, the Drift will be the idea ball to move in deep and open up the lane while still being able to clear the heads. This ball is designed with tournament shots in mind, so when the lanes are flat and tricky this ball will allow you to play steeper angles with a little more room for error. This ball will also be one that I use a lot on the medium house condition shot. It will allow you to play multiple angles and will be forgiving for getting a little too grabby at the bottom of the swing.

Really looking forward to the Drift, Spec Ops and X. Jimmy, compare the Dark Matter to the Drift?

for me the drift covers more boards for sure    but both balls are great to have in the bag thats for sure :)
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

I would say that the drift is definitely a stronger piece of equipment than the dark matter. A little less on the backend motion but does much better with oil.
