Pin down white hot?
« on: February 14, 2019, 05:57:45 PM »
Has anyone had any success with this?  I’m trying to replace a no rules pearl but I’ve noticed that a lot of my pin up stuff goes too long, I’m pretty speed dominant so I figure something pin down will help better

You dont have a PSO, you have a guy that drills balls....

What are your specs?  Axis tilt? Axis Rotation? Ball speed? Rev Rate?  PAP?

No. He definitely operates a Pro Shop

His point was the guy doesn't know what he's doing to be a real PSO. He just knows how to run a drill press.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

OT slightly but being a speed dominant high axis tilt player myself I have had very good results with my Mongoose Lifter wrist brace.  Does a decent job of retraining your release to have less axis tilt (was a bad spinner before) more revs and for your ball to start reading the lanes sooner.  Sure there are others but that one is working good for me.  Finding have to put less and less surface on my stuff now.  Not an overnight miracle but does help if stay with it imo.

Interesting. I don’t like the feel of bigger braces but I wonder if something smaller around the wrist would work

Yeah pretty quick you get used to it as its not as bulky as some others.  I got the add on wedge kit as well and helps even more.  Mostly use for practice as its really good for working on coming up the back of the ball without breaking your wrist.  Prefer shooting spares without it so don't use for competition unless my release is just garbage that day.

Careful tucking your pinky. Pinky and ring finger want to bend together. Tucking pinky Puts a lot of strain on your tendons, especially the ring finger.  I know because I used to do that till I tore a tendon awhile back. Stopped tucking, and never had a problem since.

It’s been my experience that if you have a relaxed grip tucking pinky doesn’t cause issues. I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve experienced

Lots of factors involved. Relaxed span,  Stretched span, flexibility of individuals hand, joints, fingers. Pitches of the grip, grip pressure etc. If tucking pinky helps your game with no issues, then keep doin it. I can only speak for myself and what happened to me. Just don’t want to see anyone get an injury like I had.
