Title: Respect the 900 Global Respect!
Post by: 2handedrook12 on October 20, 2015, 08:11:23 PM
After throwing the Respect with a few surface changes, I can confidently say that it is as good or better than balls in the same category. From what I've seen, the strength reminds me of the Marvels from Storm. Out of the box, I didn't really have much use of the ball on fresh. It pushed a little too far on oil, and read the friction too early. It rolled great when it was time to move in and bounce the ball off the friction. At first, I didn't think I was going to use it much, but that changed once I got my fresh abralon pads. I took it down to 1000 and I got a much better reaction. It read the lane early enough to get a good look, and a much smoother motion off the spot. If it had a bolt or star on it, I believe it would be the top seller.

I am thinking about taking mine down to 1000. What you described out of box is exactly the reaction I am getting. Would like to see how it stacks up against Crux at 1000 on each ball. It might be worth it to have 1 symmetric and also one asymmetric at 1000.

If it's too early you could always hit it with 2000 or lightly with a 4000.

UPDATE: I threw a 797 (254, 254, 289 with front 10 and ten pin) and I previously had a 298 all with the Respect! I'm currently using it a 2000 grit and it is a wonderful ball for multiple conditions!
