Lunatic vs. Villain
« on: January 02, 2010, 10:33:57 AM »
Need your thoughts on how these to balls compare?  How close are they,  which is stronger, which can handle more oil.  Do they have two different looks?  I have a lunatic that was just drilled this week, am absolutely in love with it.  Had on right handed that I couldn't peel out of my hand but due the a holiday accident was force to  go back left handed earlier than expected or shut it down all together for the year. I was impressed with the lunatic rhed but am just enthralled with it lhed definitely drilling another just a matter of how soon.  In mean time I have a villain coming and think it is going to be too close to lunatic to drill, want your thoughts on this.  Have wanted one since they came out just didnt get one til now.

Shorter pin/cg to pap measurements will make your Villain way more angular than the Lunatic...now I have not thrown a Lunatic but the Maniac is supposed to real close in terms of reaction shape.

I went with modified stacked lev on my Villain 3 3/4x2 3/4 took the surface up to 2000 and added a coat of Storm Reacra Shine.  Crazy ball motion for the price.  I think you will like the difference in angularity that you get compared to your Lunatic.

I also went  with stacked leverage on lunatic with double thumb balance hole and it is quite angular was hoping for it to pick up alot sooner but i wasnt bowling at regular house was bowling at fairly new synthetic house that has a med heavy house pattern.  So i think it will be more than i can handle at the old wood house that i normally bowl at.  My question to you solution what reads the lane sooner your villain or your maniac and do you have them at the same surface?

The surfaces are different.
Maniac 2000 wet sand
Villain 2000 abralon w/reacta shine

My maniac picked up the lane much sooner than the Villain.  It was also way more of an arc.

My first layout(5x3)on the Villain made it more of an arc than the current layout described below, but no matter how you cut the cake the Maniac picked up the lane considerably sooner.
