Reviving the Action series in 900 G lineup
« on: April 17, 2009, 09:37:43 AM »
I've been interested in trying some of the 900 G equipment and would love to see them re-incarnate the Action series equipment.  I love my Action & Action Packed and have the Action Max.  What I'd like to see is 900 G issue a ball with the same core but with a hybrid version of the M80 coverstock.

Count me and three of my bowling mates in that. Can not understand why such excellent equipment is off the market? Threw my high set of 770 recently with  a twice drilled Back Yard Bully, but nothing so far can touch my Big Shot. Just bought two of the Professional ballS, one new and one used.A bowling partner of mine has recently went back to the Packed and is wearing out his mens league.I've sold all my new Brunswick toys, the Twisted balls( all 3 of them)and the Ultra  Zone, not to mention the over hyped Storm toys that I bought as I reentered the bowling community after a ten year lay off.I match up much better with what I have now. 205 league ending average Much better then the woeful one eighty I had last year.Pro shop pro kept throwing high priced equipment my way without considering I was not the bowler he remembered. Not the high rev with demon speed that I once was.Now dnow and in with HOPE of good res.

Who's to say if they're not already putting a version of the M80 on the balls they're currently producing?

Seems logical that the first balls produced by the former Team Columbia would utilize the same technology incorporated in the last coverstocks produced before the buyout.

Global900/AMF300 probably don't have the rights to it anymore. I imagine it all went to ebonite.

Which I dont understand why ebonite bought these companies and went away with so much of their great stuff. Especially when Ebonite still uses a lot of their same cores on newer equipment just with different covers.

I was a Track/Columbia fan, but the new equipment is nothing like what track used to be. Its just different/modified versions of all the same ebonite stuff.

If I wanted ebonite then I would buy it. Dont sell me an ebonite ball with a Track label and tell me its Track when everything about it says ebonite.

True Lefty, 900G probably is using a variant of M80 on their equipment, but I would like to see them use the cores from the Action series.  That combo really worked well for me and all 3 of the Action balls I have really gives me a complete arsenal except on bone dry.

I also agree with kidlost2000, since Ebonite bought out C300 & Track, I view the balls under those labels as not being the same product, just variations on Ebonite.  I just haven't found that I match up with the Ebonite gear I have thrown.

I'm throwing a few Columbia's from the post by out era...the Noize and Loud Noize.  I'm pretty pleased overall with the look they're giving me and I have yet to throw an Ebonite that matches up with my game. (Though in Ebonite's defense I've only thrown The One, a NVS, a Gamebreaker, a SR300, and a Raid.)
