Some Thoughts About the Respectttt
« on: January 16, 2019, 10:29:57 AM »
I was gifted a Respect. It had like 3 games on it, and the original owner was like, "Too over under, driving me insane, here n00dlejester - have it!" So, I plugged it and redrilled it.

The layout is something like 40 x 4 x 40 - it puts the pin in my ring finger.

At box surface, the ball was sooooooooo wiggly downlane. It looked good for half a game, then didn't know what it wanted to do no matter where I played on the lane. Then it kind of woke up while practicing after league.

Then last night, I hit it with a 2k pad on a spinner. I didn't press hard, and only spun it about 20 seconds on 4 sides. This is our sport shot league, and we bowled on the 37' Melbourne pattern. I used the Respect all 3 games and had one hell of a look. It was much more continuous, and predictable!

Has anybody else had trouble with the shiny OOB surface of their respect? What surfaces work well on the Respect? I'm really curious as to others' experiences with this ball. This is the hardest hitting ball I've owned since the IQ Tour Fusion and I want to maximize my use of this ball.

Just drilled up my re-Respect. Really love that ball. Rolls very nice, makes a turn at the breakpoint but doesn't go crazy. Thanks doom (as usual) for the fantastic layout suggestions. Currently loving my rotation of Respect, Claw (also Doom's layout) and X2!

I have an X2 waiting for me in the Milwaukee area to be picked up. Love my X, and that core as a matter of fact, so I'm looking forward to that (and the nib Covert too)

I had an og Respect and sold it , now someone has a remake for sale, however, it has a 1.5-2 “ pin on it and not sure if I want it.
All my gear has always had longer than 3”.
Just curious if that would result in an earlier reaction/break.
I inteed to polish it up for a house shot.

Factory pin spec is basically irrelevant on symmetrics under the new rules. Drill it up with your desired Pin-pap distance and you're good to go.

I am disgustingly in love with my X2. It's so rolly, I had to change the layout from a 4 to a 5 inch pin to pap. Once I did, the ball became SO good for me! It's my ball of choice for when the fresh loosens up a bit, or I'm on a lighter volume pattern.

Hey guys, I tried the Respect at 1,500...bad idea, lol. It wanted to cover more boards, but the surface caused it to roll out and hit like a white-and-blue marshmallow. I think I'm going to try it at 3k and see if it'll let me play near the shim line a bit longer.

Also? I'm quickly falling in love with this ball, lol

Yeah, my X is FILTHY. Trying to replace that in the bag might be next to impossible.

I feel like the original X was an equally-long-but-more-angular IQ Tour. If I didn't have an effin' case of IQs a few years ago, I was gonna try an original X. I seriously hope they take that core and stick it onto a pearl. Or another cover. Just please make more, Global!

They're super due for a new X line ball aren't they?

If you ask me, we totally are. Need to have that middle of the road reaction in every aspect back. Boosts are too angular, and Badgers and Ops are too much overall. Hopefully they put something in that spot now that the Truth Tour is on it's way out.
