The Break Solid rocks!
« on: December 19, 2008, 12:59:05 AM »
Here's my FIGJAM of the season...last night I rolled my highest sanctioned series with The Break Solid at Brunswick Zone in Belle Vernon, PA.  258-259-269=785  I had a chance at 300/817 but in game 3 I put too much hand in #9 left a 4 pin.  Oh well, while I was disappointed for not obtaining the two honor scores, I truly learned from the experience.

Huge thanks goes out to 900 Global, you're products are fantastic!  I have over 40 games on my Break solid and it looks/rolls like the day I bought it!  Kudos to Matt Yablonsky at National Bowling Store in N. Tonawanda, NY for his technical expertise, stellar craftsmanship and superior customer service.  Lastly thanks to Scotty (Polaris1050) who's my close friend and teammate.  We're bowling extremely well right now partially b/c we provide each other those sometimes obvious tips one often overlook by them self.  I can honestly say after 30+ years of bowling leagues and tourneys, I'm having more fun now than ever before.  It's great to not only bowl well but to share it with your friends and family one night a week.

Ok I'm done, back to the 900G products...where's that Bounty pearl?

Great shooting Scott !

Global rocks ! 300 with a Creature and Break Solid still rocks. Picked up a Bounty from Steve (Tekneek) and cant wait to use that baby. Also, dont overlook the AMF line. My Code is still my goto ball, especially when the lanes get spooky, and kust picked up a Villan.

Go Global !

Couldn't let me have my glory for more than a week, could you?  I wanted you to go to the wall so bad the last game.  That would have been the icing on the cake for us....and salt in the wound for the 2nd place....oops....3rd place team!  We have a BIG target on our back next half.

Glad we have 3 weeks off...........I need a rest.

Thanks Thirtyclean, I'm about to pull the trigger on the Awakening as my go to ball when the Break solid starts checking up.  I have a pin over bridge Break Pearl which I like but I'm not as consistent with it as I would've hoped for.  So I'm searching for a happy medium between my Solid and Link on the THS.  It was between the Villain & Awakening and being my pro shop already has the latter in his hands I believe I will give it a try.

Polaris...I was told this morning there are rumblings among the league we're 'baggers'.  I've been telling folks going from 173 to 203 was a direct result of my Break Solid purchase.

Yeah, I heard that last night too.  I always tell them that you have to be good to be a bagger, and I'm not good......just lucky.  It was implied that, since we had the half locked up, we should have lost one game so they could stay in second.  There was a comment made to Patty that: this didn't look like her first time in a league.  My wife, the 114 avg bagger!  That's what happens when you go out and practice to better yourself......you get labeled.  Maybe they should spend less time crying and more time practicing?  There's a good chance of bowling them 2 weeks in a row next half (week 6 and 7), depending where we are in position.

Sorry for the rant in your FIGJAM post, but hearing that last night really pi$$ed me off ,and I needed to vent.

I dunno...maybe I'm getting old but that stuff really dont bother me anymore.  If one cannot earn a win on the lanes then one should not talk $#!).  If I take the initiative to invest in 3 new Global balls and begin the hottest streak of my bowling life, I'm a 'bagger'...then so be it.  Just like my T-shirt said, "Life is too short to suck".

I'm considering a Break Solid purchase, how's your's drilled?

I like the Break pearl and the core so much I want to replace a few balls with it.

Hi A_P_K,
My solid is 4.5" pin (approx 2PM from ring) and 4.5" MB from PAP.  The ball gives decent length with awesome movement at the break point and through the back end.  I'm border line stoker/tweener and my speed is avg.  The ball matches up perfect for me.  Finish is OOB.  I clean it after each set w/Power Wash and once a month  with Clean-n-Dull.

I like my solid so much, I may get another and drill it identical to my 2nd Break Pearl...then shine it.  Don't get me wrong, I like my Break Pearl(s)...both are somewhat inconsistent for me.

Work is going very well so I may just pick up another solid and an Awakening to experiment with.

With my high speed I'm debating on drilling the Break solid the same as my pearl.  If need be I always can make surface adjustments but I want to make sure it will finish.

Lately on the conditions I see Thursday my Code and Heist have been struggling to make the turn.

Worse comes to worse I can always move the MB closer to the thumb.
